I believe it is blue, with tinkerbell on it... I'm yet to see them... Does anyone know whats on the bottom? (ie fav. Disney thing, country)

I believe I heard that they're going back to hometown, which is nice, because it's one of the best conversation starters out there.

doors

Looks to me they are creating a safety hazard by adding something you have to step over getting out if the cars. Seems like some people will get their foot caught stepping over them. For a tall person it is already difficult to get out of the ride. Adding stepping over something as well will make it even more difficult.

Ok...well...when I hear "Door" I think of an entrance...something that opens to allow for entrance and egress...

So it's just a "lip" on the bottom of the car.

my opinion.. the old logo was tacky
I agree, but it did give a feel for the four seperate parks. While the new logo is plain (and simple) it appears that WDW is now just one big resort.
Go back to the old style of logo but update it. :)

I've only had mine for about 2 weeks now (not being front-line), but it's Tink with "Where Magic Lives" coming out of her starburst at the end of her wand. My hometown is across the bottom again.

I had a lot of people ask me about "Mickey Mouse Club" on my 100YM nametag though. That is relative, b/c I only see guests a couple times a month.

Personally, I liked the fav Disney memory over the hometown names. I'm not really interested in where someone is from, but what they enjoy about Disney. Although I was not born in Florida, I have my "hometown" as Orlando, FL. I was originally born in N.J. I've been living here for a few years, so I consider this my "home" now.

I don't really care about N.J. these days.

I kinda like the new WDW Resort logo.

It kinda gives WDW a stronger sense of unity and it shows that WDW is about everything else that they have there (Downtown Disney, the hotels, etc.) in addition to the 4 theme parks.

It's like what they've been doing with the other Disney resorts around the world as well. For example, Disneyland has been called (and marketed as) the "Disneyland Resort" for several years now, since it's not just about Disneyland Park anymore--it's about everything that's there now (Disneyland Park, Disney's California Adventure Park, Downtown Disney, the hotels, etc.).

Do any of these rehabs (like BTMRR) have anything to do with ADA compliance? Ive noticed (3/03) that some of the Pooh cars and Kilimanjaro Safarias have wheelchair/scooter spaces on the rides.

I like the simple design myself. It works and it's effective. Especially in the business environment... (although I was a HUGE fan of the "Four Parks, One World" slogan b/c I consider it something to be very proud of) the smaller, less colorful logo works on memos, faxes, etc. The colorful one doesn't fax well, nor does it copy well. I just have a thing about the presentation of things.

There will continue to be ADA upgrades all over. There is a certain dollar amount or percentage of upgrade rule (I knew it at one time...) that REQUIRES retrofitting certain areas for ADA compliance. However, Disney as a whole, is very well respected among Americans with disabilities. The company has gone well above-and-beyond requirements just to let guests know this is where EVERYONE can play to the best of their abilities. I seen a lot of construction/planning/safety meetings and ADA concerns always come up. Not "Oh, crap, we've got to plan for ADA." but rather "Let's focus on what we can do to make sure this has a positive impact." and that impresses me. Even on the inside.

Anyone have a clue why after over a year and more than 50 posts my nick still says "New Here"?

"New Here" has nothing to do with when you registered and everything to do with post count. When you get to a certain number of posts(100 I think), your title will change to "Earning my WDWMAGIC ears. 200 posts or so gets you the title "Junior Cast Member", or something to that effect.

Cheers

That's insane... I have to repeatedly post mindless nonsense to be "cool"? HAHAHA!

I guess I better start finding a thread to NOT tell anyone the secrets I know and to complain about ladders/chairs because I'm not cool enough to get that people like to have fun.

What do you mean that part in this production has already been cast? Ludicrous! I really wanted that role!
