Sure! And it will connect all the parks & all the resorts!
It should take about 3 days to make the complete circuit. You missed your stop? Oh, sorry, we'll drop you off there in about 3 days, OK?:animwink:

To elaborate on the size, here are some facts: WDW is roughly twice as big as Manhattan. I also read on a trivia calendar (Uncle John's, LOL) that "the world's 5 smallest countries could easily fit inside WDW" -- I'm not sure if that means all at once, or if it should have read "could EACH fit" but if you poke around, I bet you could find out for sure.

To add on to what Erika said - WDW is almost exactly the size of the city of Sanfrancisco. I believe Sanfran is slightly larger, but it's really close.

Some of my friends who have never been think that Disney World is just the castle. Or the entire Epcot is in "that giant ball."

People have no clue as to the size of the property or it's diferent recreations until they have gone. In fact, you can be there for weeks keeping busy with other things without going to the parks.

Some misconceptions huh...

Well when my parents took me for the very first time way back in 84 (1st grade I think it was), I was disappointed by the castle if you can believe it. I thought there would be more to it than just walking through to the other side. If there is, or was at the time, we didn't do it.

A friend of ours who's going with us on our next trip **actually** said he didn't think there'd be much to do. He actually said "We're gonna be spending what? Half the time in the room??" :veryconfu to which I replied "Joey do you even realize how big these places are? There's TONS of stuff to do!"

Until I asked around about it, I was concerned it would be... frowned upon (for lack of a better word)... for a party entirely of adults going to the Character Meals without kids.

I've read this in a lot of different places... I don't know how true it is... maybe someone else can elaborate more... apparently people are under the impression they can do/see it all in one trip. Everything I've seen says you cant. *shrug* It seems to be a pretty popular thought?

I've never heard that one. Maybe they are using the term in it's derogatory sense - as in "that is so gay", meaning not at all good or worthwhile?

Either way it is wrong.

I have a friend (let's just call him "Dan") who I was talking to a while back and somehow we got to talking about Epcot

Dan: I remember that! We went on that ride in the big golfball...
Me: that would be Spaceship Earth...
Dan: ...that Bill Nye the Science Guy thing...
Me: ...that would be the Universe of Energy...
Dan: ...and that Terminator thing...
Me: No you didn't.

So I guess the misconception there is that Terminator is at WDW. :hammer:

A major misconception down here in South Florida is that Disney is too much money and boring.

I try to go every other month. I feel spoiled living a few hours away from Disney. But, people in South Florida take advantage of Disney, and don't approach Disney the right way. For example: South Floridians go in the summer time (HOT!!!), so they don't like going back. (they need to pick a better time to go.)

People also ask me don't you get bored of going. But I tell them everytime I go I find something different. And the money issue, you need to shop around to eat. (Favorite restaurant: Yakitori House in Japan-fairly cheap.)

People in South Florida are too spoiled about having WDW in our backyard. I am really spoiled, but I don't take it for advantage. :animwink: :animwink:

yo tambien....

I just wrote a paper on WDW as well. We had a choice of topics, and one was to describe how something is beautiful without ever actually saying that it is beautiful. So i wrote about how different aspects of WDW are beautiful, and included lots of different fun details. I was afraid everyone would think it was a dumb topic, but those who read it in my class actually loved it. They were flipping out over how cool some of the stuff was. They loved to hear about how cm's say that the parents are the ones who are lost, and how cm's can't leave their are of the park because their costumes wouldn't work elsewhere. it was just cool to see others get excited about WDW like I do... so I hope it works out as well for you as it did for me.

More misconceptions about the Magic Kingdom:

1. Getting a coke with no ice in 90+ degree weather is a good idea.

2. There is a guy inside the Mickey Mouse suit.

3. There is a skyway ride from Tomorrowland to Fantasyland

4. If they come back later, there will be less than a 30 minute wait for Dumbo

5. The wait is always shorter in the left queue area

6. People always go to the front of the line on their birthday

7. The tunnel under the Magic Kingdom is exciting to see.

8. The 3:00 parade will be where they are waiting at 3:00.

9. cast members are all audioanimatronics, and gay

and finally,

10. when the park opens at 9:00, if they get to the parking lot at 9:00 they will be among the first people to arrive.

My first trip when I was a young teen, I thought it would have a ride in it like a snow white type of ride. :-)

When I started planning my trip for the end of this month (Last September) for me DH, DS-2, DF & DM, here were some of the lines I got:

1. "Why are you planning now?? Gosh your not even going until next April!" - Hello!!?? It takes a long time to plan it right!

2. "Why don't you wait a few years? You son isn't going to remember any of it yet!" - He may not remember any of it but the rest of us will remember how much fun he has at the time! We will remember seeing his eyes light up at seeing "Pooh" (his favorite) for the 1st time. Well either his eyes light up or the scream of shear terror lol!

3. "Why are you wasting all your money on those stupid books?"

4. "Why are you leaving work at 6am to make restraunt reservations? Can't you just do it when you get home??" -I got Cindy's Castle!! Wooohooo!

5. "Your going to go into debt for 1 vacation?"- Nope, paid my trip off 2 months ago, the "extra spending money" will come from IRS refund. No debt at all!

Actually the second one hut my feelings alot. I got ribbed by people all the time about how I was waisting my money on something he would never remember. Finally I went off on one of my coworkers and said "So, you didn't give your kids Christmas present or Birthday presents until they were older?" She said "Well of course I did" I said "Why they don't remember them now do they? They don't remember that 1st birthday party either huh?"

No one declared dead on property

WiltDinsey made mention that one popular misconception is that no one has ever been declared dead on Disney poperty. Can some of you CM's clear this up...I have been told several times by CM's that this is true. The person is usually transported off property and then declared dead and also that no one has ever given birth on Disney poperty either. Fact or Fiction?
