WDW and Coca-Cola Products?

The story in question is a straight cut and paste from the Snopes message board. The poster on Snopes is basically asking if it is true or not. I have no conformation one way or another but if I was a betting man I would classify it is untrue for no other reason then it simply sounds way to story book to be true. Reality is rarely as interesting and as well scripted as that story. If I had to guess why sponsorship changed I would guess that the contract went ran out, Disney put it up for bid and Coke came in with a better deal. It is no where near as interesting as story in question but I'll wager that it is much closer to the reality of the situation.

Well, I'm sure that it's not as extreme as that, per say, () but maybe it's partially correct.

Is it just me or does the Coke taste better in WDW, its almost like they get there own special blend.
When it comes to fountain drinks that is somewhat true. Some coke machines (if not all of them) can adjust the ratio of syrup to soda water or will get out of adjustment if not properly maintained. The manufactures recommendation is 5 to 1 from what I remember and some places will bump that ratio up and down. Rumor has it McDonald's has a reputation for adding a little more syrup to the mix and maintaining the soda machines quite well. Disney very well might do the same thing.

Why would anyone drink Coke at WDW when there are sooooooo many other Disney options??

Ugh..I hate Coke and I hate seeing those Coke signs all over the place...it just ruins all the magic!!:fork:

Coke is soooo bad for you...all that nasty, unhealthy sugar will just make all of you fat. Why any parent would let their child have something so terrible for them is beyond me!!

I sent a message to our resident Coca Cola guru.

YOU RANG?-LOL

I am pretty sure that Coca Cola was the offical softdrink served at Walt Disney World fromthe beginning.

The Coca Cola Refreshment Center was there on grand opening day in 1971.
I know though that Pepsi has ties to Walt Disney around the Worlds Fair deal along time ago.

A while back during Eisner, Pepsi played some major hardball with Disney to try to get into the parks but failed.

Some people mentioned Mc Donalds..... Yes they do calibrate their systems to be sweeter. McDonalds is one of the biggest accounts of Coke. When I worked for Coke-if a McDonalds needed service-everthing else was dropped to take care of Ronald McDonald.

Pepsi and Coke were both offered when the park opened neither had exclusive rights right away.... hmmm this may have been for Disneyland. But I'm pretty sure it was WDW. It was in a documentary i watched. It might have been Disneyland now that I think of it. But in the beginning of one of the parks both were served simultaneously
