WDW 1/2 Marathon - World Showcase Mileage?

I'm going to be running/walking the half marathon in January. As part of my training regimine, I was going to go to Epcot.

Does anyone know the mileage from the Epcot front gate to World Showcase?

And does anyone know the mileage of the entire World Showcase?

Im more than likely wrong on this but I believe from SE, to WS, around the lagoon and back the SE is about 2 1/2, maybe three miles. But Im about 5 percent sure on that.

If I am not mistaken, I believe the mileage around the Lagoon is one mile. Now what I am not sure of is if that is agains the railing or on the side touching the pavilions, or if it is right in the middle of the walkway.

You ought to buy you an inexpensive pedometer before you go. That way you can get a somewhat accurate reading of the distance as you walk. I wanted to bring my pedometer when I last went to Disney, but I went off and forgot the thing at home. I was interested in knowing just how much walking I was going to do during my week "vacation". LOL!!!!

I am walking/running in the 1/2 marathon in January too! It will be my first time. Last year I watched the marathon and 1/2 marathon and I ran in the 5k which is almost 3 miles. That course starts out in the parking lot of EPCOT and takes you around back and then through all of the park and out to the parking lot again. So I would guess that it would be around 2 miles from gate all the way around and back to the same gate of EPCOT. It is time to start training, I wish I could do it at Disney, that is so cool! I am jealous.....

According to Steve's facts page... its 1.24 miles or 2 KM.

I will be running/walking the WDW 1/2 Marathon this January too! It's with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training. I'm really looking forward to it and I'm glad to hear I won't be the only one on these boards participating!!!

I don't want to start an argument, but when I brought my GPS unit on a trip around the lagoon, the odometer said the distance was between .8 and .9 miles. I tried to stick to the middle of the walkway, but it's surprising just how hard that is.

Your mileage may vary.

My sister (Bet-C here on the boards) and her husband are doing the half marathon and they are trying out Pop Century this time. (Tyler, I told her to tell ya 'hi')

My wife and I are also trying out Pop Century. I will however be running in the full marathon. It is my first. But I could not think of a better plan than to combine my two favortie things, running and Disney. Good luck to everyone and remember spend time enjoying the sights of the race.
