Corrus, I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, but it seems every time Bill posts a new rumor, you come in and post some harsh comments. This is the RUMOR forum, so I think Bill can share a rumor with us if he'd like without any criticizing.

Anyways, I'd love to see Snow White's Scary Adventures replaced. To me, it's by far THE WORST Fantasyland ride in any Disney park Also, there's the scare factor to remember. It even scares many children (another ride that was closed comes into mind....:D ) . Alice in Wonderland at Disneyland is a fabulous dark ride, and even though it'd be nice to see it at the Magic Kingdom, the space Snow White is in probably wouldn't hold it. I would like to see a Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella dark ride in its place though.

Eric works with WDI Florida. He has worked on some pretty cool stuff. He does alot of Magic Kingdom and Studios stuff, if I recall. I was able to meet and talk with him this past fall. He knows his stuff. He worked on Stitch also.

Keep it Snow White but redo the entire ride. Gut it completely and then have a totally new ride system. It has a lot of potential. On my last day of work, I walked through it with some of my coworkers. It definitely has potential to be something great, but its very outdated.

There really isnt room for a dark ride. Emergency vehicles usually park behind there if needed. Plus, this a main entrance for vehicles to come in at night. I think since Snow White has a meet and greet there, they should turn it into Snow White's House and use that as a permanent M&G rather than the rumored M&G for 20K. I remember imagineers walking through there after the park closed taking pictures of that area and around Fantasyland so I'm sure they'll find something for that spot.

Alice in Wonderland

I love the movie and the books for Alice in Wonderland but it was consaidered a disapointment for the studios when it came out. You really dont see much of anything at the parks for it. I look for merchandise every year and can hardly find a thing...

I like SnowWhite and I have a lot of respect for the old style dark rides. If they want to update it a little with some new paint and a trackless system that would be fine to me but just dont go getting rid of anymore dark rides please!!!

I don't think Bill meant any harm! Remember that some rumors that he brought over here were confirmed by others (Lee, Grizz) All this is from 'John', no need to take it out on Bill! :)

If I say something, and Corrus corrects it....believe him.

I have every reason to believe that he is far more "inside" than I am.
He's only been incorrect one time that I know of, and even then he was toeing the company line, as I recall.:animwink:

I really dont care about who has better inside information than who....I read it all. I read the posts and I enjoy them. I dont think there is any need to put down one poster or the other......

Oh, I'm not putting anyone down. If anything I am envious.

I'm thinking of "There is nothing greenlit at Animal Kingdom" while I was giving out details left and right.
Less than a week later...Everest was announced.

But I shouldn't laugh...Mickey doesn't sign MY checks.

Yet.

Snow white needs to go. Alice would be nice, but too bad there's not more room to have something cool like mermaid, beauty and the beast, just something not quite so lame. Is there any room to expand the building to make a larger ride? I know the rumor's probally just that, but I'm just curious.

What on earth would post counts have to do with this?

You need to take a deep breath and realize that you DON'T know everything that goes on in WDI. Perhaps you know more then me... but just because you haven't heard of it doesn't mean it's true. Also, as I stated, it was something I heard from a reputable source. I wasn't sure if it was true or not, and that is why I asked for Lee if he could confirm the rumor.

And Corrus... you only seem to say what is wrong... you never say what is right... why do you do that?

I'm all for progress, but I'm wondering about the average age of those of you commenting on this thread. The reason I ask is because, Snow White is such a classic, I can't imagine what you would replace it with. Let's remember, this was one of the classic movies upon which all this started. (even though I know, "It all started with a mouse." blah blah blah). What exactly would you replace this ride with? Another dark ride? From what movie?

My point is that I'm guessing that the majority of opinions that will appear on this thread will run in the 14-29 crowd, mostly which will be too young to appreaciate the importance of that ride as it relates to WDW.

I'm always reading where everyone wants new rides, new technology, etc., etc. But let's remember that WDW WILL have to maintain some traditional attractions that connect the dots, so to speak, of Disneys' history, and where they came from. If you were to continue changing rides for the sake of changing rides, WDW would cease to be WDW, and would become just another thrill ride/dark ride park. Is that what we want? I know I don't.

I love the fact that places like Main Street, Haunted Mansion, Snow White, Small World, remind me of the place that I was first drawn to as a child. That reminds me of how Walt actually started all of this for us. And although I would agree with any of you who would say that he was always forward thinking, I would also say that he held onto that place in his heart, that reminded him of the town he grew up in. As I understand it, that's what Main Street was all about for him.

If you think that's all the 14-29 crowd cares about, you're dead wrong. However, Snow White for some odd reason or another just doesn't have the classic value that Mr. Toad and Peter Pan had/have. I can't say I'd mind if Snow was replaced, but if they touch Peter, I need to go get out my hunting knife!

I'm not trying to generalize the 14-29 crowd, other than to say that a lot of the threads that I read here refer to new technology, new rides, coasters, etc. etc. I think it's important to remember that Disney was originally (some attractions I mean to say), based on some classic animated movies that Mr. Disney produced, or had a hand in. Snow White, Peter Pan, Tea Cups, Dumbo, to name a few. I never like when people talk about replacing those original rides, just for the sake of making a change, because a minority of people are "bored" with it. I'm not saying that Disney shouldn't always be looking to make progress in all areas of operations/entertainment. But does that always mean replacing current attractions with the latest Britney Spears ride? (<<< trying to be funny here).

I agree. Snow White was soo critical to the success of Disney. In fact I dont belive Disney would be what it is today without that film. I would hate to NOT see this classic in the parks.

Also I am 26 and I love the classic rides and hate when they get torn down :)
