It is rumoured that Typhoon Lagoon is working very closely with the designers of the world's number 1 water park (Schlitterbaums sp? in Texas) to design a new water slide that will run like a roller coaster. Guest will travel up a conveyer belt and go through twists and turns in water. If this new slide is built it will probably be placed in the area behind the Shark Reef.

I've ridden the one in Texas.

Schlitterbahn is actually two waterparks very close together. The water rollercoaster is in their most recent edition to the park, and a lot of fun.

Powerful water jets and small conveyor belts push your raft up the inclines, and gravity does the rest. The experience is all in all, pretty cool. I'd love it if Disney actually went through with this.

It's important Typhoon Lagoon gets a new unique slide. Though it's always fun to ride the Humunga or the Sliders, a new ride would bump the water park to stardom again, and not so eclipsed by the recent Blizzard Beach.

I would assume that WDW would want to place such an attraction at Blizzard Beach, and not Typhoon Lagoon. Not only would it be easier to theme such a ride at BB, but it seems to me that BB is more about being on the "hip and cool" side of water rides, whereas TL is more leisure and traditional.

If either park had any plans for additions, shouldn't this have been taken care of prior to the summer season? If they do add ride(s), they probably would not be open until next summer. Either way, both parks need more attractions and better advertising.

I've been to this Schlitterbahn twice and it's the best water park in the world! For pictures try www.schlitterbahn.com they may have some for you to look at. I think that Blizzard Beach should get one because truthfully, there's not much there.:)

The ride sounds a lot like the Roller Soaker in Hersheypark, PA. Information on the ride can be found on www.hersheypark.com. The ride is interactive and people on the ground shoot water at you from guns. The website shows a cool video of the ride in action. We love Hershey almost as much as Disney. It's only a 3-4 hour drive from the metroplitan NY area, has early entry if staying at one of the Hershey owned hotels and character breakfasts in the park. Doesn't this sound just like Disney? If your iching for Disney but can't go, Hershey is a great runner up.

If I'm not mistaken, the water coaster isn't an actual ROLLER coaster...or even have TRACKS...it's tubes just like a regular waterslide with powerful jets along the tubes that propel your raft UP hills and not just DOWN hills.

I highly doubt that this will go into Typhoon Lagoon...although, they did say that a new attraction will go into Typhoon Lagoon...they said it was a state of the art, neverbefore seen attraction. The watercoaster has already been done...therefore...it's not exactly "state of the art" if Disney copies someone else.

I got this information from some of the trainers and human resource people that work at TL. They even pointed out the area on the map where they are expecting to place it. They didn't have a time frame though. However, the Lagoon closes in October for rehab so maybe then?

No, these water slides are just that, water slides. You drop down hills and then powerfull jets push you up hill. No lift hills or anything, just really powerfull jets. And you ride in regular intertubes. They're very fun!:)
