Watching the fireworks from Poly Beach

If I'm staying off site, do have to pay for parking to watch the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian Resort beach? I heard that the best way is to park at Disney Springs and take a WDW bus to Poly.

If you already paid to visit any park that day, you could park in the MK lot for "free", since guests pay one fee for a parking pass good all day at all 4 theme parks. Then either walk over to POLY, or take the monorail.

You could tell them you are going to eat at one of the restaurants or you want to get a dole whip, they have always let us in to park there to visit hotel, now we have never gone on an insanely busy timer like Xmas or Holidays to try it, but I would say you definitely have a chance if its a normal day

I think they scan your magic bands now before they let you in.

Why? you are allowed to visit resorts, I have never understood this argument
ACTUAL resort guests are paying for more than just a bed to sleep in. They're also paying for the lobby, the pools, the staff, the grounds, the hallways, etc.

It's like going to a black tie wedding in jean shorts and a white t.

The resorts allow visitors. Look how many people went to check out the Christmas trees or gingerbread houses during Christmas time.

I've never done it, but everything I've read says you can park at Disney Springs for free and bus to a resort.

If you're taking in the fireworks from the beach, you can also watch the electric water pageant.

I never said it was against the rules. Pool hopping is tacky and it would be tacky regardless of whether there was an official rule against it. I feel the same way about this.

Yes, you CAN do that, as in you can get away with it. You're not supposed to do that. Free parking at Disney Springs is for people shopping or dining at Disney Springs, it's not a way to get around parking fees at the parks and resorts.

True. The intent is not for people to park and ride for free. Honestly it strikes me as a big time suck to park there and then bus, but Disney could put a stop to it pretty easily if they wanted by checking everyone's magic band to get on the bus. I think Disney is happy any way they can get people on property, because once you're there, you're probably going to spend some money.

Whether visiting a resort is tacky is a matter of opinion. I think a lot of people at least try out a restaurant or lounge at another resort than the one we're staying at, or even just wander through and tour the grounds. There were people at AKL last time I was at Disney who came purely to see the lodge and the animals and whatnot.

The "victim" isn't really Disney IMO, it's the other guests.

Sure, I could see people hopping the buses at Disney Springs being annoying if it caused on-site guests to have to wait longer for another bus or something. I have no idea if that's the case. But I assume if it got out of hand Disney would put a stop to it.

We resort hop to different restaurants and hotel gift shops every single time we go to WDW. How am I victimizing anyone when we go over to Kidani and eat at Sana'a, or over to the Poly and enjoy a Dole Whip?
I don't have a problem with either of those things. You're a paying customer of those shops and restaurants, not a freeloader using the beach or pool without a room reservation.

I didn't mean the bus passengers, I meant the resort guests trying to enjoy the fireworks on the beach with minimal crowds.

So if I eat there or spend money there, then it is ok? What kind of rationale is that? Walt Disney World is ONE large resort, not 20+ different small ones, they want you to explore all of the grounds and spend time in more than just the parks, I really can't understand your mindset

Oh, guess I just misunderstood. I seem to do that a lot lately.
