Watching movies..

On our recent Princess cruise, they offered freshly popped popcorn for free every night before the "Movie Under the Stars" (movies shown on the their "Funnel Vision"). It's now one of the few things that actually angers me about DCL that they charge $3.50 for a bag of popcorn. There's just no reason for it.

Yeah, this does seem odd. It might be because they are pre packaged or they maybe are just trying to do some inventory control or don't want everyone to have a bag of popcorn to make cleanup easier? Who knows?

The popcorn on the Fantasy was NOT pre-packaged last week. I should have mentioned that in my last post. It was scooped into a cardboard container, just like in the parks.

Maybe it came onboard the ship in pre-packaged containers and then they opened the bags to heat and salt it, or something like that. But it was not served in sealed bags.

Was it hot? Could you smell it being cooked??? I'm interested now! Seems like it'd be a fairly inexpensive thing that could ramp-up the movie experience exponentially. Personally, I'd still shell out whatever the chocolate caramel corn costs because I'm hooked on the stuff. It's up there with my crispy treats on-a-stick need. LOL!

Same thing on the Magic. They have popcorn carts outside the Buena Vista Theater and Walt Disney Theater. The popcorn I got in the theater one night was definitely fresh ... yes, hot popcorn and a gin and tonic ... I just reeked of class.
