We are going on our first ever cruise on the Dream 9/15-9/18, stateroom #7616. We're really pumped! Even with the possibility/probability that CC won't be in the cards for us, we are truly excited! I don't think I could go on a trip to WDW or on a DCL cruise without writing a trip report. I like writing them and people come to expect it so they send you messages asking what the hold-up is. It's particularly bad when your brother is a member here and calls you every few days to ask where's the report.:lol:
Awesome...is that stateroom in the rear of the boat? The DC planner recommended a stateroom for me with a similar # (7690) I think...I would need a verandah for my clausterphobia.. It is on the back of the boat, and she said the verandah was larger than most on the ship. I am excited beyond words, mostly because my fiance agreed to it if we could just go to a beach the rest of the week...
Just you and the hubby, or are the boys going too??

I got "upgraded" to room #5682 last cruise (Dream in July 2011). I say upgraded because I had booked a porthole room and this was an upgrade to a verandah.
Out of the three DCL cruises I have been on, this was easily the worst room (both previous rooms were verandah rooms too). Room #5682 is RIGHT over the night clubs. I could hear music - not just the bass line, the entire DJ speil and everthing, until 2:00 AM - every night. Each night I would call. It would get quiet about 20 minutes after I called, for about an hour or so, and then it was back to loud. DCL was very nice about it and gave me a bunch of gifts and shipboard credit, but what I wanted was to sleep at night.
When the club was not jumping, you could also hear engine noise, and if you were comming into port, the noise from the chain lockers was loud enough to wake the dead.
Now you are two decks higher, so you may not have these problems, but it is back to center of the ship for me.

I love these links, thanks!!!I watched her sail in early last night on the webcam at midnight EST (it was 11:00 CST). I was so excited. She's so beautiful! Anywhoo, anyone else interested in watching the Dream sail back out today, she's scheduled to pull out an hour earlier than usual due to the storm. That would be at 4:00 EST, roughly 15 minutes from now. Here's the link to the Port Canaveral webcam! Once she's gone from sight you can still track her to see how her itinerary is changing using the marine tracker. Such fun! :sohappy:
My wife, daughter, and I went on our first Disney cruise from July19-24 2011 on the Dream. We had a BLAST!!!! Daughter is 17 and loved the Vibe, she would come into the room at 2 or 3 in the morning. Thank god for the wave phones. Wife and I are going on a birthday gift to ourselves on a three night Dream cruise in December, wife and I are treating my mother-in-law to a 7 night cruise on the Fantasy in August, and the whole family is going on the Magic for Thanksgiving 2012. We loved the whole cruise! Only complaint I have is that we had a level 4b statement #10614. Liked the room, but we didn't know that smoking was allowed on the balcony, and we were next to a heavy smoker. Food was excellent, entertainment was first class, saw the new Winnie the Pooh movie, Cars 2 3D, and the new Pirates Movie. Would also recommend swimming with the stingrays on Castaway Cay, the deep sea snorkle on Castaway Cay too. Stayed on the ship during our Nassau day, it seemed to be VERY touristy and shopping was pitched a lot, Not our thing. Rainforest Spa is a MUST do! For my wife and I it was $120 for the five days, and we got two private whirlpools, heated ceramic lounge chairs, three steam rooms, and aroma showers that I could spend the whole cruise using. Pools were small, but adult pool was enjoyable. Aqua Duck was fun. First class experience, and I guess I am now spending all my school teacher pay on DVC and DCL. Fill free to ask any questions, more then willing to help.
How bad was the cue for the Aqua Duck???
We would go on it in the late evening, 11ish and the longest wait we had was maybe 15 minutes. Not bad at all.
Im guessing best to hit it first thing early or late at night?
Correct. During the day the line was all the way down the steps and had a 40-45 minute wait. Never went in the early morning. Late night was never crowded.
Good to know
Cant wait to try it out :sohappy:
It is worth to try. It doesn't go to fast, but going out over the ocean was fun, there is a pretty good drop, and part has no roof over the tube so it can get pretty scary too.
Do you know wich ship is this one?
Is it the Magic?
That is cool...I was on that boat when you guys were watching leave port on the 25th!! We had the sail away party inside because of the high winds. One of CM told us that all the Disney CM call the other ship "MILK CARTONS" beasue they look like white boxes compared to the Disney ships. We were in Nassua and 3 Royal ships pulled in and all I could do was laught when I thought about it...they are so plain on the outside. But I hear the inside is top notch tech and very nice. They can keep it I woud rather have Mickey and his pals any day!!!
