Warning: double booked ADR's may be cancelled!

I completely agree that it is fair. Nobody should book the same restaurant like 4 times because you are not sure. I don't blame anyone for trying to leave their options open though. I just booked my reservations on ADR and picked the places I really wanted to go to and pretty much planned most of my vacation around the dining making sure I varied each park and get enough time in each. I still left a few days open with no dining and hey, if I can't get a walk up then certain counter service will have to suffice.

I am not surprised this thread happened. When I made mine I thought about how easy it was to book several options AND how many problems it would cause.

However, now I am worried. Would you believe after 20 years of going to Disney World I only went to Le Cellier once.

The only place I booked twice, EVER, was Le Cellier for Lunch for my trip in July. It is one of the best restaurants in Epcot AND all of WDW. We really are having Lunch twice there. I hope they don't cancel me, I totally plan to fulfull both of my reservations for two. My Disney Honey is a steak lover and has never been to the restaurant so I know he is at least guaranteed two great lunches.

Crap, what if they get rid of both of them?

Mrs. Toad- If they're at different days and/or vastly different times, I'm sure you'll be fine. What's being discussed here is people who "Can't decide" where they want to eat because they don't know "where they'll be that day." So, they book two restaurants at the same times as to leave their options open (for instance, "I don't know where we'll want to have dinner on the Thursday of our trip... I'll make a reservation for Crystal Palace at 4:45, AND a reservation for Nine Dragons at 4:45 too!").

Some people do cancel the reservations that they don't need, whereas other will leave both reservations standing. The problem begins when the dining plans have become just so popular, that every ADR available becomes slightly more important to have open so that everyone has a fair shot at at least one per party. Making lunch reservations for two days, or making a breakfast ADR's for, say, 1900 Park Fare, as well as a dinner ADR there, are a different story.

I vote kudos to Disney for cutting people off from jipping other people from one ADR, whereas they themselves are hogging two that they obviously won't be able to use.

I agree- big difference between double booking (booking two restaurants for the same meal- only intending to eat at one) and booking the same place twice (two separate meals on two different days, both of which you intend to eat!).

Someone on another board did comment that they booked LC three times because "they wanted to keep their options open"- while quite rude, nothing can be done about that! No way to tell them apart from someone who truly wishes to eat at LC three days during their trip!

I think the moral of the story is- don't double book, if you split up your group put each reservation in a separate name to differentiate, and double check your ressies to confirm you have no double bookings and that everything is correct!

Now this has me worried all over again. I am booked for Chef Mickeys twice, but we planned it that way. Oh my goodness, this is to stressful. I am hoping that they leave them alone in a case like this. I only have one ADR per day, surely they would see that.

You will be fine. You could book chef Mickey's 3 times a day and they will not cancel it. What they are looking for is people booked at different restaurants at the same time ie Smith 555-555-1212 party of 4 at le Cellier at 7:00 PM, Tempen Edo 7:15 and Rose and Crown at 7:05.

ugh...I tried to cancel a double booking I had. I checked Sci Fi for a better time. I originally had a res for 3:20pm and wanted to eat earlier so I booked it for 1:20pm and tried to cancel the other one. I looked it up online...no luck, just kept saying they couldn't find my ressie. So I called and they tried to look it up over the phone, couldn't find it by confirmation number so I thought that I may have written it down wrong.

I gave her my name...both ressies were booked under my name but I wasn't 100% sure which of my 3 phone numbers I used (I usually use my home number but she couldn't find it) I asked her to check by my name and she couldn't find it.

So now I suspect I have a booking for 1:20 and 3:20 on the same day with no luck canceling my dupe...hopefully if they come across the booking and decide to cancel one, they cancel the right one because I'm not sure what else I can do

I would get back on the phone with them and don't hang up until they locate it. I would be worried that they have been canceled. Probably not, but I would make sure.

When I called the other day, it was under my DH's cell phone number for some reason, so they had a hard time finding it until I provided the conformation number.

In August, two of us are eating at Tusker House and two are eating at Boma around the same time on the same day. Would they cancel these reservations? Thank you.

If they are reserved under the same name and contact number more than likely yes. The simple work around is to reserve them under different names and phone numbers.
