Walt's Apartment in the WDW castle (ANSWERS)

I was under the impression that yeah, they didn't start building until after Walt died, but didn't he have any drawings or sketches or plans for the Magic Kingdom? No one thinks that Walt had this planned ahead of time?

Sure.

But that doesn't mean that they built everything exactly according to those early plans.

Like any project, things get changed as the actual construction takes place.

This was always the case even when Walt was still around.
That's WHY there IS his apartment AT Disneyland.

Walt spent much time there at Disneyland making suggestions and improvements and solving problems during the early days of that park as well.

At MK in WDW:

The ROOM (space) inside the castle is there (we all know its there).
But there never was an APARTMENT in the space.
Even though it was PLANNED early-on, it was never built-out as an apartment.


At Disneyland:

There is and always was an apartment built for Walt Disney on MAIN STREET.

I've heard this rumor different places, and I've known about the space for the apartment for years, so this rumor is pretty plausible to me. But that doesn't mean it sounds like a good idea...

If they are going to complete and furnish the apartment in the Castle, it just doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Once it closes, the MK is just sortof creepy, especially since the music keeps playing. All night. It's almost spooky, that it, until the janitors and painters show up. I mean, what's the upside of this experience, that you get to watch the third shift clean Main Street? Is there going to be Guest Services staff at the castle all night in case you need something, or will you end up talking to some maintenance guy named Earl? Will you be able to leave the building, or will you be trapped in the castle all night, a virtual prisoner of the Mouse? I'm guessing that Disney will figure out the details, but this has lots of potential problems.
