Wow thanks so much, I will make sure to set the DVR.
Have you seen Walt's El Groupo. I watched that this weekend. It was pretty interesting. :)

I saw that a couple of weeks ago. It's awesome. And the movies Walt and company took during their South American tour are pristine. They looked like they were taken yesterday. Walt in particular looks so young. And there's a nice bit in the movie about Mary Blair, and how the experience altered her art style for the better. I highly recommend El Grupo for any Disney fan.

Thank you! I just set my DVR

This particular one is a DVD only. Though there are a few other Walt documentaries available on streaming. Both El Groupo and The Boys (The Sherman Brother's Story) are on streaming. I watched them recently too.
Also, thank you for mentioning that The Boys is on streaming, for some reason it's never showed up as one of my recommendations. I can't wait to watch it! I was so excited when El Grupo showed up the other day.

"Walt: The Man Behind the Myth" will premiere on Thursday, February 3rd at 9pm. The two hour documentary will repeat that evening at 12am. "Walt: The Man Behind the Myth" is the definitive filmed biography of Walt Disney. Based on over 75 interviews with Walt’s closest friends and collaborators as well as leading historians, "Walt" traces the life and creative achievements of one of America’s most enduring icons in entertainment. In addition to the familiar stories of how Walt conceived of Mickey Mouse and created the first feature-length animated cartoon with "Snow White," the film also reveals the lesser-known saga of how the studio faced near-bankruptcy in the wake of a strike and World War II; how Walt skimped and saved, and even cashed in his family's life insurance, in order to finance the early development of Disneyland; how the Disney Studio broke the Hollywood taboo of early television; and how, in his final days, Walt was fully devoted to building a city of the future near what is today Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
"Walt: The Man Behind the Myth" is a production of Pantheon Studios, Inc. for the Walt Disney Family Foundation.

thanks for the heads up as well

My Library had this bio pic and it was done really well. Narrated by D. Van it goes further than the One Man's Dream film has and goes from Life to end of Life of Walt.

El Grupo and The Boys, I believe, are both on Starz' current lineup as well, and with the deal Starz has with Netflix, most of what's in license for their networks is also available for Netflix. Only downside is, those titles are usually not hi-def.

Cried at the end. Walt was a true visionary who had a lot left in him and left to early. I have a new appreciation for my favorite place on earth. Thank you Walt for everything you did for entertainment.

I remember watching this when it first aired in 2001, it holds up well for being a decade old. Saddest part (for me) is almost all of the people interviewed in the special have died since the filming.

I only caught the second hour, but i have it on dvd so I'll have to watch the whole thing. I have always wondered, do any of Walt's grandchildren have anything to do with the company?

It had the same effect on me, I cried when it talked about him getting ill and passing. It left me with such an empty feeling. Yes we did gain all these wonderful things from this amazing brilliant man but I can't help to have such a yearning to know what would have been if he did have those 15 more years to create:( :)
Then at the end it talked about Roy passing, then Lillian, than Sharon...:(

I am on my second biography (book) for Walt Disney... love to read about his life..
