I'm not a vegan myself, but I don't necessarily want to have meat with every meal, as I've reaped substantial health benefits by cutting down on it. More options are always good, and I'm glad to hear that the new vegan ones will be labeled with a special icon for easy identification.

Of course, it's only a matter of time before I utter the words, "I'll have the vegan burger with kale and quinoa... and could you put some bacon and cheese on that, please?" ;)

I don't want meat with every meal either. But those foods will be fruit, veggies, pasta, bread, etc. Not tofu or a pretend burger.

I agree! I’m actually vegan and prefer real food lol. There are so many options that don’t need meat or pretend meats. I wish they had more things like pasta primavera, veggie curries, black bean burger, rice and bean burritos, etc. Not everything needs chicken or Chik’n 😁 I think a big misconception about “vegan food” is that it has to replicate meat dishes.

As someone who only a few years ago figured out I was lactose intolerant (after complaining of issues and never having a single doctor suggest we check for it), I’m thrilled that Disney is continuing to make attempts to offer a variety of food and drink offerings for people with any sort of dietary restrictions. If you don’t have restrictions, good for you! I would love to not feel deathly sick every time I come into contact with certain foods, but I can’t just will it away. It amazes me how people have such strong opinions on something that never has to affect them.

"Steamed Asian Dumplings at Le Cellier at Epcot – Plant-based meat dumplings, served with bok choy, Chinese long beans, red peppers and radish in an Asian broth. "

Huh? Which is it? Plant or meat?

Yeah that’s a weird way to list it.

Yes and the Impossible Burger (and its counterparts) might be the biggest scam out there right now. It's not true plant based and has as many chemicals in it then a bottle of RoundUp.

So how can the Cashew Cheesecake be a cheese cake if it is plant based and has no dairy???

Just call it a Valrhona Chocolate Cashew Delight.

I am the only vegetarian (30+ years, so no, not a fad) in my family of four. My family is great about going to restaurants, home or vacation, that have more than fries with a side salad that must be ordered without bacon for me to have. If it doesn't have at least ONE option, we just don't go there. I am hoping there will be more places my family and I can go to that we have never considered before. So these add-ons are not just going to be nice for the vegan-vegetarian people, but also for the people that live with us.

I feel exactly the same way. Not vegetarian, but sometimes vegetarian or vegan options are just more appetising. I'm not a big red meat eater and sometimes want a change from chicken or fish, so something different on offer is always good. I've also never quite got the appeal of imitation meat products. I can understand, though, if you can't eat meat for health reasons rather than by choice it might be nice to have something that approximates food you miss.

Indeed. If you don't want to eat plant based options, don't order them. Disney is still going to be offering up plenty of over-priced steaks and burgers alongside their over-priced vegetarian and vegan options.
