Walt Disney World has extended park hours for the week of May 12, 2024.

Magic Kingdom
May 12, 17, 18: 9am-11pm (previously 9am-10pm)
May 13: 8am-10pm (previously 9am-10pm)

Disney’s Animal Kingdom
May 12, 18: 8am-7pm (previously 9am-6pm)
May 13, 14, 15, 16: 8am-6pm (previously 9am-6pm)
May 17: 9am-7pm (previously 9am-6pm)

Man, I hate these AK hours. Instead of opening an hour earlier, can't they stay open an hour later at least? Even if Safari is closed, still so much to do and see. It seems to be closing even earlier this year?

I fear in December it will close at 5.

Guests appreciate the opportunity to enter the park before it’s 90 degrees out. Lions are actually awake, too!

Hollywood getting way more 10 pm closings. They barely got any from 2020 on…

Has there been any pattern of Disney not extending hours on Mondays and Wednesdays when there are extended hours at EPCOT and MK? I thought it was interesting to see MK open until 11 on Sunday before Memorial Day but then only 10 on Memorial Day, but maybe there is expectation enough deluxe guests will be at EPOCOT for extended hours? Similarly HS are extended on a Tuesday and Thursday around a Wednesday when MK has extended hours.

It's as though it's an operational cost savings to not extend MK on Memorial Day and HS that Wednesday? So Disney double dips extending only one park while calling it a benefit?

There's been a lot of 9 and 10:30pm Fantasmic! nights recently, which is a surprise for this time of year. Even later than when the holiday season rolls around in past years. So you realistically could stay in the park past 11pm.

Guess they see a good return on these later park closings and late night F! showings.

Man I miss the days where EPCOT closed at 9 and you could take the Monorail over to Magic Kingdom, arrive at 9:30, and close out the final 2 and a half hours over there, wrap it up with Main Street until 12:30, buy some treats, snack on them on the way back to your hotel room, and crash.

Let's hope 12am closings become a thing again soon.
