Walt Disney World Park Hours Update

It's really fascinating to me that mk hours were set at 9-9 for peak week until right now.
We knew they would extend, but for a Company that tracks data, looks at trends, and makes you preplan park days....they should also preplan park days! It is ridiculous. We do not vacation here for family vacations any longer...just quick runDisney weekends that often don't even include park days.

While I appreciate the extending of hours and having 2 Fantasmic shows most nights, I really think DHS should be open later than 9:00pm more often.

Given how long the lines are for the rides, even an extra hour or 2 would make a big difference.
I think they are reticent to run their headliner attraction there more hours in a day than they absolutely have to. They would really rather you just buy the Rise ILL.

MK used to be a 1a close on the 30th and 31st of Dec. Not to mention, this was the crazy week EMH used to go till 3a with park openings at 7a. Attendance was less then and yet hours were much longer. So frustrating.
I'm glad someone else also recalls 3 am EMH for Magic Kingdom. I was beginning to think I was losing it at the young age of 31 because I distinctly recall walking out of MK that early/late in the past.

I remember being fascinated by the quick overnight turn around. 3a close and 7a open. Wow!

Even during Easter Break during the 25th anniversary, MK was opening at 7a for Resort guests. And remember how great the morning Extra, Extra Magic Hours at DHS were when Galaxies Edge opened??! Unreal benefit. These benefits do not exist any longer.

WDW parks, as a trend, seem to be opening earlier, but they do not stay open late. It really is run like a retirement home...early to bed and early to rise. Haha.

Yeah midnight closings are literally an average weekend at Disneyland.
Isn't it midnight all bust the slowest times of the year?

WDW can physically fit more people in so they aren't forced to keep the parks open as later to fit more people in. Also, if they close earlier people just buy additional nights and more genie/lightning lane. Its all about putting the blame on the guest for not being able to get on an attraction even though Disney created the problem.

Good to see. I was in Epcot last night and the 930 close comes hard and fast. I swear Disney management runs this place like a senior center. Then you get back to your resort, and dining closes at 10p or 11p, depending. I was hungry!! Haha.

Yeah I’ve been saying resorts should have something open until midnight at least especially if a park is closing at 10-11.

Currently in early jan it says fantasmic is at 930pm only. I have a dining package that says ‘first show’.
So will this be 930 or an earlier time? I hope not as I have other ADRs that would then conflict

Also there was supposed to be extended hours for deluxe hotel guests at Mk on jan 3 9-11.
So how will that work with the new time extension?

Those hours also shift - Extended Evening Hours on January 3 at Magic Kingdom are from 11pm-1am.
Oh man, ok this is actually bad news for me. Being from the UK, the time difference works against me for late nights but for me with early mornings. We have a hotel that will allow extended evening hours but was worried if my daughter will cope with so many late nights . 9-11 was maybe doable but 11-1 will be a struggle so we may now not be able to take advantage of this :(
