Walt Disney World Park Hours Update

What exactly would be the problem? Your reservations are not changed.
If the park im going to hours dont change yet the park i am not going to extends hours i would have obviously booked the park with longer hours… which now requires modifying park reservations during Thanksgiving may or may not be an issue but then what do i do about dining reservations i have thats becomes the issue not to mention my pre booked das rides… so yes Disney playing these games is frustrating.

You don't need to do any of that. And the change in hours isn't going to make an appreciable difference to your overall day. Treat them like a bonus if you happen to get extra time in the park you're already planned for.

Just keep your plans how they are and complain (and stress) less.

You know how its said 'People will complain about anything Disney does'? This is a shining example.

You're also completely ignoring that park hours are only posted for the first time about 60 days out. So when you did your planning, you probably had zero information about hours.

You seem to be way more stressed about this than the poster you are quoting.

It’s frustrating to plan around operating hours that change. Heck, I was frustrated when I walked across the courtyard to see world of color and it was a grad night, all I had to do was walk back to DL but it still was annoying.

Do you visit the parks regularly?

Disney has received complaints that their parks require too much planning. Some of us are sympathetic to you, the people who would like to plan your trip. I too would like to be able to plan my trip.

This is my point tho. Disney has required us to plan our trip many months in advance (granted dining is reduced and FP is gone) but its tough to truly plan when park hours are not officially announced until after everything else needs to be booked and chosen… again im not looking for sympathy at all and again my trip will be basically the same its just annoying that they continue to do this. Thanksgiving is a month away. MK is set to close at 9pm… if it stays that way its a disgrace and if it changes my guess is internally they know this already why not announce it… unless dare i say it. We are looking at another up charge or they plan on ONLY allowing select guests the extra hours as a last minute “perk”. Who knows. Just venting. Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday!

It's "ridiculously frustrating" that Disney, or any business should make decisions/changes to hours when appropriate to benefit guests by adding more time? Seriously?

I mean if you had booked a park and then Disney decided to add a private event that day, or close earlier for some reason, sure I can see the point of complaining. But here, you are complaining that hours are being extended...at a park your not even going to, as a problem?

That is my point tho. If the hours were posted correctly i would choose the later park

They hours were posted correctly...at the time they posted them. Then they made decision to change the hours, to add more time to the park, not take away anything from anyone who had previously booked tickets for that park, which you hadn't even done.

Just like when someone buys something for full price in June, but then that particular item goes on sale in August. In June, the posted price was correct. The store then decided to put that item on sale, and changed the price, not because it was incorrect in June, but because they made the decision to change the price.

You are missing the point completely. As Steve said and as everyone knows. The hours will be extended. They always do it. Why wait to announce it?!? That is my complaint. Can you answer me that? Does Disney wanna look like “heroes”. Oh wow we extended park hours from 9 to say 10 or 11 on Thanksgiving week nights. Its another game they love to play to fool guests into thinking they are getting more.

Disney was forecasting low attendance and then realized all of the recent Florida Resident/hotel deals were increasing demand so they added park hours.

At least WDW keeps their parks open late, Universal (as much as I love them) continually closes their park early.

As ive stated. It is NOT ruining my trip in any way shape or form. I assure you that. Its just a point i was making about what this company does…
It’s very funny when someone comments on something annoying at Disney and several members act like it’s totally impossible to be annoyed by something unless you are a “Karen.”

I can’t stand how early the Railroad closes at WDW, it should be open to park close. Period.

Watch now how I’ll be told that “you should just read the operating hours and plan accordingly” or “your life is very fragile if the choo choo closing time ruins your vacation” - somehow I’ll be the bad guy or the “Karen”

It has nothing to do with fooling guests. Park hours are based on forecasted attendance. When the park hours are posted they are based on the forecasted attendance for that day. As the day gets closer if park attendance is forecasted to be higher than originally planned park hours get extended.
