It isn’t just flights that need to be available, it’s other things too. For those of us from the U.K., for example, where we can travel to certain European countries, there are issues with:

Travel insurance - some policies will cover you if you get ill and are diagnosed with Covid whilst abroad. None will cover you if you get sick or have to self isolate before you travel. Or of course if official advice is for essential travel only.

Quarantine - I work in the public sector, I would not be paid for any mandatory quarantine period afterwards, even if the rules changed whilst I was away so that my holiday destination was no longer “safe”

Perception of safety - both of flights and the destination country
You should assume that no insurance will cover Covid...and anyone that says they will are lying to you.

Club Level = Best Value?

More like biggest waste of money unless you have cash to burn.
Food and drink several times a day on club level if you take advantage of it is something guests like. At times you don't even need to spend for a meal in a restaurant.

Sir, one of us was there, and the other is in front of a computer. On the ground, the crowds were not “pathetic”. I have gone every August since 2011. Crowds were only noticeably lower than usual at DAK, which makes sense. You can’t park hop and its the park with the best shows...which aren’t running.

A curious phenomenon on walkways, though: they weren’t jam-packed. Why? Because no FP+. People were in actual lines.
I agree...last Saturday, at MK, the park was slammed...they stopped accepting people to join lines for rides and told them to come back later.

No. I have the lighter fluid and matches, but my pile of cash that I have waiting to burn is pretty non-existent. Feel free to explain the great value in club level, and summarize it with the price per night?
Value is subjective. You don't have a pile of cash but others do. Yes I will pay 500 a night to avoid having to carry my bags and bring me food.

Lol I hate cutting grass with the passion of 12 burning suns, so I pay someone ridiculous amounts of money to never have to cut my grass again.
Value is not specifically the price you paid for something

The most you can say is that It has no value for you

There are people that go to Vegas and don't even blink an eye when they lose $500 on a few hands of blackjack.

For both me and my family, and only, the value comes in the availability of coffee, drinks, alcohol, regular food rotations, and access. I’ve only stayed at poly club level, but the building has great room views, all around, the pool is 10 seconds from the Front door, and the lounge, at night, is a built in MK desert party with cordials. The staff that work the lounge are the best, as well. The customer service there is unique to the entire resort.

Last year, for thanksgiving, they even served lite dinner, which is usually more than enough.

In all, you get the room view, location, signature services, and amenities for far less than what you would pay for a lesser room plus out of pocket for food, drinks, dessert party, room location upgrades.

As a catch, I usually book it with a discount, so if your comparing book rate, then yes, every room at WDW is ridiculous.

Also, I guarantee I spend less in a club level stay per night than a regular room with the other items being bought out of pocket.

I know you were there...but there’s way more people on my kickball team than yours. But one of us worked in the sundial building once and one of us didn’t. So I can’t really take “I’m still going...” as the predominant viewpoint based on experience. Disney operates on the many...never the few.

But I wouldn’t tell you not to go either.

And I’m not fan of fastpass Ration...the fact the majority of travelers accepted 3 rides a day with certainty or hour+ waits for $100 a day is sheer lunacy. Yet another in a long line of customer failures under Iger...

...but the lines aren’t pumping people through from reports...it’s severely lower people in the lines AND on the paths. Many of the rides handle between 1500-3000 people per hours. They were designed to do so because of mass model. That capacity is no where close now. The math doesn’t work that you’re suggesting.

It’s just far fewer paying people. Less spending.

Not good...however you want to slice that.
There is something to that. However it’s important to remember that while not “dead,” crowds are significantly lower than normal. We are still talking generally less than 20% of the normal guest count.
That is “dead” by Disney standards...but we still have those under the impression we’re on some degree of the “normal” scale.

Certainly true for us. I like people who criticize those who book Club Level and don’t know what they’re talking about. You can easily make the same overpriced claims about almost anything Disney related (Dining plan, merchandise, tickets, etc).

Especially for those who don’t like to battle crowds from 9am - Close, Club level elevates the trip to a much more relaxing, higher end experience. As stated, you certainly spend less on overpriced food and drink in the parks and resorts.

Do you get 100% of the price back in monetary value...probably not, but not to ruin the magic for you, you aren’t getting that in ANYTHING at Disney.

I can’t wrap my mind around lotto tickets or scratch offs...I have literally bought $10-12 worth of lotto tickets in my whole life.
oh baby, don't let my mama hear you say that. I have yelled, screamed and badgered her on those scratch off. but you know what she told me once. I raised 4 kids, stayed out of debt and saved to retire, I get to spend 200 bucks on scratch offs.

You know what??? she has a point.

And remember folks, many many people question our sanity when spending thousands to go to WDW
