Haha, it was like that for W&D and I think I made a similar comment.

They had people go all the way to the Epcot security check point to go through the park security check point devices. There were two lines when I went through around 3:30 (one mostly from the parking lots and one mostly from the buses), the lines were long but moved fast. The bad part was having to walk way out of your way over there and then all the way to the normal staging area.

Glad to hear it moved quickly at least, but yeah, the last thing you want is to walk even further than needed. Someone mentioned they clocked almost 2 miles before they crossed the start. I’m used to the long trek out on Woodpecker Lane, but goodness!

I’ll be utilizing “Dad Uber” again, so I’ll be dropped off on the outskirts anyway. At least I’ll be able to take advantage of a real bathroom along the way.

I wonder if they just need them out of the lot where the temporary bus loop is.

I heard the lines for security were a little rough this morning. Was that your experience, or was it pretty smooth? I’m thinking of leaving a little earlier on Saturday than I had initially planned…

Not terrible. Dropped at the regular Epcot bus stops and used the regular Epcot park security lines. No bag check was nice but LOTS more walking.

I think he meant that there was no security bag check line (everyone just walks through the metal detectors like you would going past security to get into the park). I wasn’t paying close attention since I don’t normally check a gEar bag, but I know the bag check trucks were stationed out there, I assume they were using them.

Walk from the parking lot wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I assume tomorrow will be rough.
Good run overall, ready for tomorrow.

Just left the expo. Walked through the merchandise area, just to see how picked over it was. As we were leaving, I heard a guy say to his son, “If your mom didn’t buy anything, you know it’s bad.”

There was still a nice crowd coming in. I saw a couple people who were almost visibly shaking with nerves while picking up their bibs.

There is no bag check for the races?

You walk through the Epcot park scanners. No bag check unless the scanners catch something. Very nice.

I was annoyed at being in S5 but we were running after only 30 minutes for both the 5K and 10K. That's why they want you there early because they start moving the first groups before start. Hopefully the next two days will be the same. But we will probably have even MORE walking with the Pathway of Doom to the start groups.

Anyone get rained on this morning? It started when I got on the bus and ended when I got off the bus.

But the bus roof hatches were open for some reason and rain was coming into the bus. I wasn't under the hatches.

Also TYPHOON LAGOON was the best today!!!! There were about 50 of us in the park, every slide had tons of Lightening Lane availability and they let me bodysurf well past the red line without giving me a time out. Shrimp lettuce tacos were delicious and it was a great way to relax at my favorite Disney Park! Going back daily.
