They need to “leverage” people into showing up and booking hotel rooms…cause it ain’t happening
Although something smaller than the typical discount is coming (<30%), there must be a some demand surge in October/November going by the lack of discounts they are offering, which is strange.

Not at all…

They’re “at their limit”..which is as imaginary as the maginot line…

And are banking that the 15 year bumps for those times will backfill themselves in.

They may be right too…they know their prey and its lack of restraint.

I wonder what @PREMiERdrum thinks?

So they would give you extra hours for a hotel you willingly pay so you don’t have to buy these near daily block pricing second tickets?

I mean it may work? we should call Burbank and see what they think? 🤓
Haha I see where you're going with it, but I have reasons to pay for staying at FQ over Pop, which you could make the same argument/logic.

There are 25 Christmas Parties in 50 days at Magic Kingdom. The most popular park at WDW closes early 50% of the time. This is nuts.
A decade ago, most days would see MK closing 8 PM in November thru February, even in between party nights.

Now, the non-party nights are closing at 9-11 PM.

The Fall is now peak time precisely because of the popularity of the Party Nights. And so, the parks are staying open later because of the crowds.

I've been taking advantage of discounted rooms for years and years. These discounts aren't new. You just got to grab them when they're available, especially for the cheap hotels because they do sell out, and you wind up paying rack.

You’d think…but that has never been their tactic.

They don’t believe in “freebies” for hotels. If you look at their policies for 10 years…it’s been mostly taking things away to shave margins.

They have had a hard time selling deluxes for YEARS. Why?? Cause a room at contemporary isn’t worth $700 and wilderness lodge isn’t worth $550

So in basic Econ…doesn’t that mean they lower them to book them? Anywhere else on earth…yes.
Not them.

What have they done? Shrunk their inventory by slapping timeshares in over old rack rooms.

And timeshares are part of the problem as well…they are LOATHE to give dvc any perks…because they cashed the checks long ago. So that blocks deluxe extras as well

That's from the Disney perspective. From a consumer perspective, I have a few reasons why I would pay ~$100 more a night to stay at FQ over Pop Century. Likewise as a consumer, I have a few reasons why I would pay ~$200 more a night (over moderate) to stay at a Deluxe, if they brought back daily EEH. Without EEH, the needle isn't moved enough to make the fiscal commitment.

You’ll get zero argument from me…that’s just not how they operate.

Kohls pricing remains in effect for hotels

If they hadn’t put basically all their money eggs in the domestic park basket…maybe they’d adjust. But they have. The elephant in the room is the whole companies financials are teetering and they can’t give back a dime to park goers.

I mean…inside out 2 had the biggest second weekend of a movie EVER…and it wasn’t worth $0.05 yo the stock value today

Travel has increased organically…everywhere…Disney parks have not kept up

There you go

There's exactly 1 MK closing before 10pm in November a decade ago that doesn't involve a Christmas party. December 2014 didn't have a single day with a closing time before 11pm. January 2015 had 4 days with an 8pm close. February 2015? Zero days closing at 8pm. Don't believe me, though, TP has all the data.

The Broadway show, concert and football game are the WORST comparisons to Disney parks ever.

And why? Because those last 3-5 hours door to door and typically do not involve travel. They certainly don’t feature an average of 6-7 days of inflated hotels in any travel market, airfare and an onslaught of hyper food prices for the week.

The ONLY comparable cost comparison to Disney parks is Probably cruises…just don’t use DCL 💰💰💰

The “Broadway” thing reminds me of someone that puts everything on credit and pay APR on their bacon
No, it works for a variety of scenarios and was clearly about the parties. And people outside of major sports markets and outside of NYC travel for these things all the time.

It does not…because I just told you why and you shot past

You cant carve out a 4 hour block from what is a significant disposable outlay and compartmentalize it.

Only sycophants try.

I used to work in pricing tactics in a swamp…by the way.

I didnt read it on reddit

Wow…it’s almost like they adjusted hours for crowd levels for the measly daily rate for 40 years

Then some geniuses decided to close early and try to resell it…

Nah…can’t be
