Notably, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam! does not return to Disney's Hollywood Studios, neither do the Cinderella Castle Dreamlights at Magic Kingdom. Instead, theme park icons will continue to transform into Beacons of Magic in between showings of glittering holiday-themed displays.

This year, they can hide behind their EXCITING 50th anniversary celebration to explain away these rather paltry offerings.

But, next year?

"Due to unforeseen economic conditions, we will not be able to offer more Christmas decorations outside of projections. And, of course, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, with tickets starting at only $299/person!"

From my viewpoint: No lights on the castle = Cheap. And an indication that most physical effects like that are on their way out around the parks, to be replaced by projections. Because TDO can't get enough projections. :banghead:

I don't expect Holiday D-Lights to return, but there is still a webpage for the tour FWIW:

Of course the tour also references RoE...

It would be ironic if the 50th decorations are removed, the dreamlights return and a new RoE show is featured in Epcot in 2023.

At least give MK a new Christmas Tree…I swear that old thing came from Ancient Mesopotamia.

Being that the 50th decorations is still on the castle it makes sense, Disneyland did the same during the 60th…

But I swear if they don’t come back next year (with a new lighting ceremony)

Paris is getting some type of new lighting for their castle this year. They recently installed them on the castle turrets. I hope if the MK Dreamlights do not return as they were, they return in a new way, maybe permanently installed.

I would hope for this but certainly not count on anything similar happening. I personally kind of hate the Dreamlights during the day.

The Dreamlights are another entertainment offering that will surprise me if they ever return. Disney seems to be content with using projections.

Well this all is much-appreciated. World Showcase has really improved in 2022 from its sad pandemic state.

Makes you think that "Paycheck Chapek" really wants to decorate with aluminum trees and a color wheel?
