Walt Disney World 1966 - Vol. I

Bald Mountain coaster, eh? I'd have it start at the top of the mountain and continue downwards for a unique experience compared to other Disney coasters. You'd symbolically travel underground and beneath the mountain as you see and hear every movement of Chernabog. We see ghosts summoned by Chernabog all over the walls, ceilings, and even floors, yet jumpscares are rare or absent. The ride eventually sends riders into a fire cavern of horrors, before the terror ends with the chiming of a gong. As you are climbed back up, you start to hear "Ave Maria" as the saints march up to take you back to safety.

For the Americana park, I suggest having a Windwagon Smith attraction in the Western region. Would Canada and Mexico areas work?

Welcome! This is a great idea for Bald Mountain, what does everyone think?

Canada and Mexico will be in our World Showcase idea! But it might be cool to include like the geographic boundaries of America like Canada and Mexico on the outskirts of the park!

Random thought I had today... Tagging @Sam4D23 because he knows more about the topic...

What if, instead of Atlanta being the host city for the Olympics in 1996, in our timeline, it was Epcot City? o_O

It'd be interesting to see what it'd do for growth in the 90s at Walt Disney World Resort... Plus, ya know, it might save the Paris debt :p
Ohhhh, that would be LEGEND...

YES.

I'll take that as a yes. :bookworm:

Seriously though, this gives us an opportunity for a better, more elaborate version of WWoS. :D Plus, they could easily hold people in all the World Showcase rooms that summer.... Since it'll be authentic :D

Could Disney handle Olympics traffic? (Adding to the tons of tourists already there:rolleyes::p)

Well....

It would be difficult, but I think with the proper development and partnership with the Orlando area it's certainly possible.

The key however is that Walt Disney World and specifically EPCOT has become a global center of economics, sport, business, etc. since opening. The area also needs to be well integrated with the Orlando metropolitan area.

Also...the international airport at the southern half of the property has to be be built.

It's workable, it will just mean a ton of building.

We also need to come up with a plausible reason as to why EPCOT beat out the favorite to win, Athens.

Another option is that Sydney hosts in 1996 and Orlando, now a major global city, hosts 2000 (not to mention it would play brilliantly with the theme of a New Millennium *imagine Illuminations as an opening ceremony*). The center of the Orlando area is Epcot City and surrounding area so most of the sporting venues are in that area.

Essentially, in this timeline, Orlando, because of Epcot City, has become Silicon Valley.

We could do that!

Think that can happen in our timeline by 1996? o_O

I also lowkey think Walt would have loved the idea.

I think he would as well! :)

Also, do you think housing could be at the world showcase boardwalk? Or would we have to build that as well? o_O

So, Epcot has to be killer.

LOVE THIS.

Let's go this route! :D

We can move the leave a legacy gravestones to Olympic village :p :hilarious:

Brilliant! Love this! :D

Honestly, if Epcot did very well by the mid 90s.... WDW could buy more land for the Olympics... right? o_O

Have Mineral Mountain and some of Walt's forays into sporting complexes be built and be successful and it's possible. Realistically though we need Epcot ready to go in 1988 or at least at a point where it could make a realistic and winnable bid.

It's an interesting thought, but it depends completely on how we set up the venue plan. The IOC would want the village to be close to many of the venues and have superior transportation to the other venues. The furthest the IOC is willing to go between venues and the village is about 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Honestly I think it's realistic if we plan it just right.

Depends on how the area around the resort develops. Personally I think that Disney should take a larger interest in the development of the Orlando area. Specifically how the roads work, etc.

The key is to integrate the resort into the larger Orlando area.
