Walt Disney Research set to read your brainwaves in the parks

This is really interesting. It seems to me they're not going to use it to necessarily "read" your brain, but instead track where you are when you're brain is being activated and stimulated the most. It'll give a great read of what's actually working and interesting guests. I like it!! (though i am a cognitive development student, so this is right up my alley)

No no, it goes on your head... :lookaroun

Its a conspiracy I tells ya, they have had them in Mickey Ears/top hats/veils for years... :lookaroun

Personally I think it's a plot to make people mindless, souless, zombie like creatures. Addicted to all things Disney. Willing to lay their lifes savings at the Mouse's feet. You know....kind of like us.

I now understand why they bought Marvel.

Seriously? Their telephone system still asks me whether I've been to WDW in the last five years. If they're doing a study on brain wave detection, it'd be on a pool of internal candidates, if you get my drift.

I think this is a rather neat idea, a great tool to be used for future development and marketing.

Seems like they are getting ahead of their competitors, regarding what the customer wants.

Now if something comes to fruition because of this in the future, that would be fantastic.

It'll be done like this. (39 seconds into clip)

After the research . . .

. . . what will they do with it?

Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Now that brain that you gave me. Was it Hans Delbruck's?
Igor: [pause] No.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: Ah! Very good. Would you mind telling me whose brain I DID put in?
Igor: Then you won't be angry?
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: I will NOT be angry.
Igor: Abby Someone.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [pause] Abby Someone. Abby who?
Igor: Abby Normal.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: [pause] Abby Normal?
Igor: I'm almost sure that was the name.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Ooo, someone in the tin foil brigade. We've got something new to complain about!
As interesting as this sounds, I don't think I'd want to spend my trip wearing a silly hat.

Can we get hundreds of people think about how lame Milf and SGE is and how great it would be if TDS came to Orlando... ;)

"Sir, we're getting the first results in."

"Finally. Forty years of research, millions of my own dollars, and two federal grants. We will finally understand the average mind of a tourist!"

"Ummmm...."

"What's wrong with him? Out with it man!"

"Either this man is dead, or my watch has stopped."

Will it be able to detect thoughts about Aerials clams?

The sensor that detects that installs a bit farther south.:lookaroun

Now that's funny! :)

But in all seriousness, Disney can't be for real here, can they? I can't imagine walking around the parks with some ridiculous rig on my head. I'm not sure what would be worse, the ridiculous looks you would get or the questions from the people brave enough to ask!
