Really? HONEY I SHRUNK THE AUDIENCE?!?!?!?

No kidding. Someone was probably going for a stereotypically bad 1990's vibe, but missed the mark because it's still just bad in 2023.

Maybe try again in the 2030's on the stereotypically bad 1990's stuff? The scars may have healed more by then.

But at least they snuck in "Let's Dance at Disneyland" by the Elliot Brothers and the Disneyland Date Niters. That one is actually great!

Honestly I'm just salty The Merrily Song, 20,000 Leagues, and Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah aren't there

I think we can agree that song list is moderately crappy at best.

It should have had some Epcot '82 stuff in there; It's Fun To Be Free, Imagination, Energy, etc. Plus more obscure stuff, like the PeopleMover soundtrack from '67 or the Monorail Song from '59. Dare I even say it, Miracles From Molecules?

I would have left out the current WDW 50 stuff that is widely derided as being a failure and mostly crap, and instead gone only a few years back into the history books with stuff like that ridiculously catchy jingle for the 2010 Summer Nightastic campaign.

They've started using the exact versions of songs that are used on the attractions in the esplanade/security area music. I first noticed in in 2019- they would play the instrumental Zip a Dee Doo Dah used after the drop in Splash Mountain.

When I went Christmas Eve, they also played the exact version of 'What's This' used in Haunted Mansion Holiday.

Call me old fashioned- but the attraction music needs to remain specific to that attraction. Use a different recording is fine- but using the exact version used in the attraction is a poor move.

I actually love that they're using the attraction audio! At least for a short run through the 100th celebration.

MUCH preferable to 2018 when every single song was Pixar. It's something of a celebration of the parks, and for a company that normally treats the parks as IP vessels or ATMS, I'll take it.

Here's more accurate music loop of Disneyland Esplanade as part of Disney100, sightly different from the previous video uploaded by Mousekegamer.

Struck out on a MMRR boarding group but may still go to the park to catch the fireworks and ride Splash in case WDW Pro’s rumor is correct. It’s also a beautiful day out here today. 68 degrees and sunny.

The thing is I’m not quite crazy enough to battle the crazies. If I was I would have been at the park bright and early to buy an ILL in case I didn’t get a boarding group. You can only be so crazy with a 2 year old. For example, camping out for 5 hours to watch the fireworks ain’t happening.

I don’t blame you for not trying to deal with the crowds today, especially with your young children. Many of us are on the same page.

We’ve got time to experience the festivities, no need to rush.

I think we’re going to wait a couple weeks now too. Family emergency too is keeping us here and I moved my hotel reservation to February. Seeing the struggle for VQs confirmed it in my mind, too.

I’m willing to almost guarantee that WDWPro’s source is wrong on Splash, but at least the weather’s good for it.

Sorry to hear about the family emergency. Yeah, we’ll get on it… 100’s of times. Hahah.

If I was a betting man I’d say the rumor is wrong too but since I have reservation and weather is nice….

Thank you. Appreciate it.

Re: Splash - for sure! I think they just have too many irons on the fire now with so much of Toon Town and Adventureland under heavy construction. I also think it’s possible GRR may be down longer than usual if it’s impacted by the San Fransokyo work at the wharf (since they drained the water from the rides overflow basin for that). But we’ll see.
