Uh, they got a freaking awesome fireworks show, a new WOC, and seemed to put more effort into celebrating the year than anyone else. So I'm not that bothered that they didn't do a whole lot for the actual day.For the 100th anniversary, Disneyland Paris got a stage presentation with their park president, ambassadors, and 100 Disney characters marching through.
WDW got extra character meet and greets and photo ops.
Disneyland got... *crickets chirping*
NOTHING.
Not a darn thing.
At rope drop there was a mention in the park opening announcement of the 100th anniversary, but since I usually don't rope drop, that may have been running the entire past year and I wouldn't know. Other than that... no characters, no cavalcades, no appearances by Bob or Josh. Not even a one-day-only cupcake.
It was just... a huge letdown. Especially considering the early announcements that Disneyland was going to be the center of the anniversary celebration. So for the actual anniversary... yeah, I guess they forgot about it.

I wouldn't have taken such issue with it if Paris didn't do things like this on the day:
Disneyland Paris Celebrates Disney’s 100th anniversary With Ceremony Featuring 100 Disney Characters in Front of Sleeping Beauty Castle!
On October 16, 1923, Walt Disney officially founded the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, marking the beginning of a revolution in the entertainment industry and storytelling. For 100 years, France has played an important role in Disney’s history, first in Walt Disney’s life and then through...disneylandparis-news.com

Hong Kong did this:
New Walt Disney & Mickey Mouse Statue Debuts at Hong Kong Disneyland CelebratingDisney’s 100th Anniversary
An all-new, first-of-its-kind, bronze statue of Walt Disney sitting on a park bench with Mickey Mouse was unveiled today at Hong Kong Disneyland to coincide with the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company.disneyparks.disney.go.com

But Walt's original park couldn't be bothered to make a banner up and have some characters march behind it for two minutes. Or even just have a moment at the train station with Mickey and Minnie where Bob or Josh show up and say "Happy Anniversary" and then leave.
They didn't even have Oswald out at DCA.
Even the cast were disappointed nothing was happening for the day when I chatted with them.
I'd rather keep Bob and Josh out of the parks. Don't need soulless businessman there to spoil the festivities. The world can only take so many clueless millionaires in suits cutting ribbons.I wouldn't have taken such issue with it if Paris didn't do things like this on the day:

I’m more concerned about the 70th in two years.
Won't officially end until the release of Wish. So, is this Disney 100 thing over now?
This has to be the weakest and cheapest "anniversary" celebration they've ever done, in my opinion. Best to just put it out of its misery and move on.
1000%. I actually wasn’t expecting anything for the 70th until they mentioned they were gearing up for it in one of those Disney 100 videos. It's kind of hard to believe we are closer in time to the 75th right now than we are the 60th...
I think the 100th and the 75th are going to squeeze out the 70th ultimately. I'm sure there will be some merchandise and if we are lucky, a parade. But nothing like the 60th.
i honestly think that disney is at the point where they know they don't need huge milestone celebrations to get people to go to the parks. wdw's 50th started strong but then kinda sputtered by the beginning of 2022, disney100 is just kinda ending quietly less than a year in? the castle decor is being taken down, there's no official end date, everything's pretty much over at disneyland a week after what was supposed to be the day of, unless you go to WDW where the celebration will have lasted a measly 3 months.
so... i'm kinda worried about future celebrations if we've had two straight milestone anniversaries of... meh.
