Excellent point, and one that is obviously lost on Disney management. This is also going to affect golfers staying at POLY or GF and some of them walk over to golf
Both resorts have been marketed to golfers for their ease of access to the course

Their transportation “strategy” has been anything but.A point overlooked in all the discussion is the supposed Disney interest (apparently not a very big interest) in reducing carbon footprint, as in reducing vehicular traffic. All the so-called road improvements suggest a promotion of vehicular traffic and a hinderance, obstruction and limitation of pedestrian, cycle and E.V. movement around the property. Not very green at all.
Yes, that sign has been there for years. After spending the past four days at SoG, we really missed the walkway to the Polynesian and we heard numerous people talking about its closure. We almost always used the walkway and would often stop at the Polynesian for food and drinks. This trip, I had made reservations at Kona for breakfast so the plan was to take the walkway but that obviously changed. I ended up taking the SoG bus to the TTC and walked to the Polynesian while my mom and sister decided to drive and park the car at the TTC and then walk from there to the Polynesian. I was at the SOG’s bus stop before 7:30 am to make sure I got on the first bus but it filled up before I could get on. I still ended up beating my mom and sister to the Polynesian. We did drive to the other parks as we wanted to utilize early park entry and it worked out pretty well so we will probably continue to drive to at least AK and DHS. Also, was this sign always at the TTC side of the Polynesian? I don’t remember seeing it I the past.View attachment 715124
There’s no reason why it has to be a “two way walkway”.
It’s a courtesy to a military retreat and bad taste to say “what’s in it for US?” On Disneys part.
Sorry…no real way to put lipstick on it
I meant “two way” as in which direction the predominant traffic flow is…Technically, it is a two-way walkway as SoG guests would want to walk back to their resort. When we stay at Contemporary/Bay Lake, we walk to MK every time and I think a lot of people are the same. Plus, they can walk (if they are gluttons for punishment) from TTC to SoG if there is a walkway and bridge.
The only mistake that we made was walking from MK to our car in the MK parking lot.
Tunnels in Florida are “problematic”I wish the CFTOD would put in a tunnel under the roadway or bridge over the walkway as part of the work to widen the roadway.
It can be done especially for a one off.Tunnels in Florida are “problematic”

The “stench” of this point of contention is that somehow SOGs customers shouldn’t get the access to the other spots…and that is just repulsive
Talk to Army MWR about that -- that's a "pay-to-play perk" offered to on-property hotels, much like EMH access used to be.Or at the very very least then restore the free theme park parking - at least at MK and Epcot. Shades had it until around 2010. Even that would be appreciated. Or shades could reduce its parking garage fee (or, ideally, Disney restores free parking and shades reduces its parking fee).
The point is that Disney should give it free to those who are eligible to stay at SoG.Talk to Army MWR about that -- that's a "pay-to-play perk" offered to on-property hotels, much like EMH access used to be.
So, perfect for any SEALs staying there. The water table is like 18 inches
Oh I will..having some family medical issues at the moment, but when I can breathe, that’s the plan.Talk to Army MWR about that -- that's a "pay-to-play perk" offered to on-property hotels, much like EMH access used to be.
The “two way traffic” issue (as in saying there isn’t 2 way traffic) also doesn't acknowledge that people use that walkway to access the golf courses, for which military ID is not required.I meant “two way” as in which direction the predominant traffic flow is…

Building a bridge, primary purpose of extending monorail transportation to a non monorail resort, doesn’t make sense.
Although I didn't memtion golfers does it really change my point? The primary use of the bridge would be SoG guests seeking to use the POLY resort monorail station. Are posters suggesting golfers would be a SIGNIFICANT number of guests who would use such a bridge? 40%? 30%?The “two way traffic” issue (as in saying there isn’t 2 way traffic) also doesn't acknowledge that people use that walkway to access the golf courses, for which military ID is not required.
…and yet…days later…it STILL has this kinda distasteful undertone?Although I didn't memtion golfers does it really change my point? Would it even be 10%?
Never said they were. Disney has converted resorts to DVC. Reduced number of rooms. Disney was able to reduce supply in order to maintain high pricingBut I’ll put it in practical terms: no way in hell is that room at poly or contemporary “worth” $750 bucks.
