We went to Wdw last Nov with good friends and their son got hooked! We did lots of vinylmation trading and collected the muppets. We got all of them but beaker! My son was 2yrs old and his favourite was sweetums which he calls colott (meaning chocolate) monster. 'mickey kermit' is another popular one. We'll probably collect vinylmation pins or keyrings next time as they'll fit easier in our suitcase!!! I wish we could buy them in England.

My son, ok... we started collecting them 2 trips ago. We've tried to only collect the ones from the park series while at WDW. However, our Disney Store has them too (not to trade). The duplicates we plan on taking with us on our next trip. We've been collecting from the laugh series. My son would like to start collecting out of the ocean series. Have you seen those...cool. We are truly hooked.

I have about 6..I'm waiting and praying that they will make a Kingdom Hearts Vinylmation Set in the upcoming future.

I have the entire Toy Story set and a couple of others. My favorite is either the Colonel from The Adventurers Club (had to use eBay to get him) or the Chip and Dale one from Have a Laugh.
A Kingdom Hearts set would be amazing.

Exactly! They should have a 9" & 3" Sora
The Entire organization 13, Kairi, Riku, & Roxas in 3" for the first set
Then do Aqua, Terra & Ventus and the others from Birth by sleep & 358/2 days...

Yeah maybe have the 9" Sora in his KH1 costume and the 3" in his KH2 costume. What I wouldn't give to have an Ansem the Seeker of Darkness Vinylmation.

I will now prove once and for all just how old, out of touch and geezeing I am. Ahem. . . Vinylmation is just weird. Ugly, mildly scary, never ending. I really don't get the appeal. Fifty seven different versions of the same one, "collect them all". And most of them look scary and WEIRD. Thank you for listening. I'll go back to playing my 8 tracks now.

While I don't have an 8 track, I will push stop on my cassette tape. I'm not sure I get the appeal either. I have seen a couple that are neat looking, but I don't understand the overall fascination for them. Maybe someone could explain it to me.
I will say, if they are something that you enjoy collecting, go for it and enjoy it!

I agree on that count, and also - aren't they "random"? So you buy a little sealed box, and you don't know what is actually in it?
That's why I won't even touch them. A few I've seen are kind of neat (Star Wars, or Muppet ones) but I'm not spending $10 on a little figure that is random when there is probably only a few I'd like anyway.

Whew - I'm glad there are others that feel the way that I do. I was afraid that I was getting it. Admittedly, I am a little curious about how they got their start. Though I suspect that a marketing/product development person made a good pitch to someone in charge. After all, if you consider how much money it costs to produce one, I'm certain that Disney is making profits a hundred-fold.

We were really into it for a while. Have over 200 now. Since summer is finally here we have stopped buying since we have other things to spend our money on. Once our August trip gets here I am sure we will be in full swing again. If you have that collectors mentality they can be very addicting.

I just began collecting them about 2 months ago and only have two right now. I would love to get more but I wish they were like $5 or $6 instead of $10. Also, the closest disney store to me is an hour away. Anyone know of a website to get some cheap? I found a $6 one on ebay but with shipping ended up being $10 as well.
