MK Villains Land Announced for Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

Could have been one of the DL announcements? I could see them not doing 1 of those at this point more than I see them outright canceling something for WDW

If it is WDW, I'd imagine the second cars ride might go and they might just clone the Mater ride instead of something new or just not do anything.
Coco ride? We haven’t heard anything about it since d23. And no way they cancel pandora.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t the rumored access/entry to the Coco ride under Incredicoaster? Maybe the complexities of that are contributing to the silence on this project?
It would be kinda nice if budget cuts went to DL first for once.

I think the ride would be good, I'm all for it.

But maybe they see it as something to delay until DL forward and put it somewhere else?

They don't have to put that there anyways. They can always takeout Goofys sky school and the boardwalk Pizza+Pasta instead. A lot of people really want to see Sky School go the way of the dodo bird.

Is wrong that when the red car trolley went and dlr people were angry, a small part of me as a wdw fan thought to myself: “Oh, you’re angry about a part of your park’s soul is going away? Not so fun when it happens to you now is it?”
Kinda mean and spiteful, I know.

I love DL. But I also think about how overall phenomenal that resort is. How they fit so much into both parks. It's truly amazing

I look at WDW, and I'm like, maybe we can get the coolest stuff for once. We need the 4 parks at WDW to actually be complete parks on the level of how complete DL is. Not a 5th gate at WDW and not just replacements. And that's my personal priority in how i view any announcements made.

I honestly don’t know. I was just told that a ride announced at D23 is already facing the chopping block.

I have a couple theories but nothing to really back them up. The door coaster seems pretty far along so I highly doubt it would be cut at this point and Indy is possible but since they can’t keep dinosaur how it is and have Tropical Americas make sense so I doubt it’s that.
My thinking is the 2nd Cars ride as there has been no mention since D23 last year. That or Coco at DCA

Agreed. I know we are usually seen as the “spoiled golden boy” but dang it, this time we’re getting imagineering taking big swings with cars (hopefully, but starting to have doubts ngl), villains, parade, and the door coaster, and that makes me happy a little bit. Price isnt nice, but Maybe they’ll be worth it. I think WDW is gonna be an amazing place once this is all done.

I hadn’t thought about it until right now because the majority of the conversation involved specific details about a couple WDW projects but we had gotten a bit broader in topic at that point and my friend just said that something that was announced at D23 was already under consideration to be cut.

I just assumed it was probably the smaller Cars ride at WDW. I’m going to have to go back over the D23 panel to look for more clues. lol

I think tease it a bit at Destination D23 and shoedrop at D23 26 is going to be the play.
It does feel like D23 2026 won't have many big announcements like 2024 because everything they announced is supposed to open by 2030, so 2026 could be used to make 1 or 2 big announcements and fill in the details for some of the vague announcements like Villains at MK, Avatar at DCA and Lion King at DAW

I read a rumor somewhere that they may have a villains hotel adjacent to villains land or inside of it. Is this just a buncha baloney?
This is probably just speculation based on where the laydown yards are going. There would certainly be space for it, but that doesn’t mean anyone knows for sure. It could be for anything, or it could go unused for a long time.

I feel like D23 2026 will be mainly used for more 'close to final' details on Villains Land.
Opening date for Monsters Inc. Land
And probably more details on the Cars ride as well. Maybe an opening 'vague year' like *In 2029* or something like that.

I'm holding out hope that they have another big announcement-like maybe that Moana ride in Adventureland, or whatever they are doing with Animation Courtyard. Even if it's as vague as the first Villains Land announcement was. Would be nice to see where their heads are at on that!

I’d put my money on 2026 announcements being pretty heavy on International parks and Disneyland Forward stuff with most of the WDW stuff being more concrete information about previously announced projects.

In addition if figment isn’t at destination d23 this year (some suggestions from people on here that it could be the case), hate to be this guy again but I could see figment being saved as a “one more thing” in the next two major expos
