As suggested by danlb_2000, I will post this here for those that are interested... The below is a screenshot from a well know development/realtor in Orlando discussing something he found on a website where projects are put out to bid. Looks like Villians Land has some kind of plans far enough along for a contractor to bid on. Job worth up to 50 million just for the construction company and work to start 60 days after bid accepted. I would say things are moving along. Just hope it gets to dirt moving.

So the address is "Maple Rd." This could mean this is rentention pond work, etc.

I did stumple onto an interesting map online from the Orange County Property Appraiser:

According to this, the dirt road leading to the canal is technically "Maple Rd," so maybe the project has to do with the laydown yards in the area?

Supposing the dark ride goes behind HM and IASW, it would be possible to line up its facade to allow for a view of the fireworks set to different music like DL does. Could be really cool, actually! I know the option has been explored for this land but do not know if that's the final design. They are certainly aware that they need fewer people on MSUSA.

We already just refuse to watch HEA from Main St, just too crowded and too stressful and whenever they mention adding capacity to MK I shudder about how this will just get worse - so I think having a way to spread the crowds has to be part of the design ... Otherwise we will continue to watch HEA from the Poly beach on a non-park day and ride rides during the show when we are in MK

My non-insider opinion: There's no way they aren't considering fireworks viewing from Villains Land and creating a second prime location to spread crowds. I know I mentioned a new parade (which I do believe will come with the opening of VL), but I would be shocked if a new nighttime spectacular doesn't come as well that is designed to be seen from both angles (hub and villains).

I don't think they're planning to replace HEA. They saw how that went with Enchantment. I think if anything they'd just modify the existing show to be visible in both.

My biggest wonder is how they plan to hide the castle - if they truly want to immerse you in a villain land, they can't just have this giant pink and blue fantasy castle when you look behind you.

They'll replace HEA eventually -- the problem with Enchantment was that it was basically just a worse version of HEA. They were very similar shows overall. Whenever they do create a new show, they need to do something different than copying HEA.

Plus new opportunity to sell dessert party/dining package viewing (like they do at Galaxy's Edge at DLR)

They can make a separate show with its own music that works with the same pyro as DL has done. You convince people to visit 2 nights without actually running another show.

There are plenty of ways to block the castle from Villain’s Land, the trick is doing it in a way that blocks Villain’s Land from the rest of the park. It’s possible we could have a dark castle that looms menacingly over Fantasy Land.

Absolutely this.
