I never heard of anybody getting thrown out for taping. The most I've heard is a cast member telling you to stop. Continue after you're told not to, and you could have trouble.
I've kicked people out for that, and less before. I'm very patient normally, but after telling a person more than once, I'll kick them out of the ride/show first, and then if they're caught again, I will walk them, alongside management and security to the park gate.

And turkey leg boy, I hope you get your a** kicked next time you tell a cast member somebody taped something. what do you care if somebody wants to tape a ride to preserve the memory of their trip?

threatening someone is a great way to make friends on the forums.. it really is

I was just reading through the whole thread earlier and started thinking, "Jeez, people!" Nutcases are flying airplanes into buildings and we're berating folks for carrying camcorders onto Pirates of the Caribbean. Time to step back and take a breath.

sigh.. sadly though, this IS a Disney Discussion board, and not an "I hate Terrorists" board (even though i do hate them)... so discussing Disney is OK here

I did.. July 4, 2000. No one punches Rob in the jaw... no one.

Hey, Rob, you got to the party kinda late. :D

Seriously, tho, I know where I am; my point wasn't that we shouldn't be talking about Disney here, it was simply that I disagreed with the way that some people were (IMO) overreacting to this issue. I stand by my statement; there are bigger problems in the world than people taping themepark rides. If it irritates you, then by all means express yourself here, but don't turn it into the 8th Deadly Sin. The way disneyisbest got crucified in this thread for practically nothing left a real bad taste in my mouth, and prompted that particular response. I think you can discuss Disney without tearing people apart in the process.

Peace.

okay, now that im done with my 2 cents

i have taped on CaroOfProg and i have never had anything said to me. That was as recent as 2000. As for other rides, i dont think it is a problem especially if you are polite about it. Some rides, ie Spaceship Earth i think it would be okay to use the screen (depending on where you sit) because there is a gap between some cars and the car behind you.

i hope to tape on splash mountain (will they get ed if i tape on the drop?) and i hope to tape on everything else (minus RNR and TOT) Id be ED if they took my tape (especially if it had other stuff on it)

i taped on winnie the pooh, spaceship earth, pirates, jungle cruise, haunted, presidents, Caro of prog, maelstrom, el rio del tiempo, living seas, land, energy, imagination, movie ride, dinosaur, that ride in animal kingdom (the one with the poachers..i forget the name) :brick: tommorland transit authority, swiss family robinson tree house. for now that is all i can think of. If i remember any more ill let you know

the point im trying to make is: I WAS NOT DISCREET ABOUT TAPING!!!! and they never said anything to me.

Some guy was using his video camera light on the carousel of progress and I have to say that he ruined half of the show. Finally I was fed up and asked him to turn it off. I was videotaping it myself without the lcd screen open or any light. Some people are just a-holes like some of you in this thread and have no consideration for anyone else. I admit I videotaped where I wasn't suppose to but I did not take away anyone's expericence from any of the attractions I taped.

I don't think they care, as long as you don't use flash photography or those video cameras with the big light to help you film. My dad and I film certain rides, and nothing goes wrong. I was on Splash Mountain with him last year and these unusual people were filming the ride with a huge light and right when the ride was almost over(Brer Rabbit with Blue Bird) someone told them to shut the light off and they freaked out!!!! Hehee.

yikes!!!

give me a break...

all i was saying was that it is okay at times to use your screen because on some rides there is no one behind you. thats all, im not saying use ur lcd all the time in pitch black with the contrast turned to 12.

:brick:

so many testy people
