So, we all agree on here the FLE is no 'Potter Swatter', as it were. The WWoHP has proven to be enough of a draw that people will take a day at Universal just to see this 'land'. Indeed, some may even see this attraction as a main reason to visit Central Florida. I'm not going to suggest that FLE will have even remotely the same influence, and I don't believe it was ever designed to do more than absorb and spread out MK crowds. Having said all this however, here's my thought on FLE.
As more and more details, sketches, photos, and video has become available on the FLE (and for me that includes the highly themed new Tangled washroom/rest area), I've become increasingly more excited. This thread showing more detail about the m&g is awesome, and gives me a feeling of old school imagineering. I have hope that WDI still can produce if given the creative latitude, and the money. That's awesome.
But, here's the thing that hit me as I thought about FLE today...are you ready for this? I can now can say for sure that I am going to enjoy these MK additions much more than WWoHP. And it's not just because I'm a Disney fan(atic). For me, WWoHP is cool, but been there, done that. I'm not a fan of the movies, but the area is wonderfully themed (except for being able to see the roller coaster), and FJ is a wicked ride. Not a place, I'd spend much time or travel 'cross town to visit again though. On the other hand, I can easily see myself spending a decent amount of time enjoying FLE (along with the 'old' FL) attractions, and doing so repeatedly. I am looking forward to eating at BatB Restaurant and riding the LMA and 7DMT, but I also know that I'll very much enjoy the Enchanted Tales with Belle attraction, and just sitting in Fantasyland Forest or the Tangled rest area, having a beverage, and enjoying the theming. Not a 'Potter Swatter' for the masses, but for me, a place I'm much more excited about than WWoHP, and much more excited to experience than I was when it was first announced in 2009. Can't wait 'til Decemeber!
