VIDEO - Take a scenic walk-through of the spectacular new Fantasyland

Four weeks to go, I can't wait to get a chance to walk around this area.

My one sightline gripe is back by the bathrooms, to the right and above the wall you can clearly see the top couple feet of green building that is the edge of the Mermaid queue building. (5:40 in the video)

But they did so well everywhere else that for now I'll presume that there is something planned, either trees to be planted or some other kind of add-on decoration that isn't installed yet (if you can't see that point from the Mermaid area, perhaps a simple three-dimensional set-piece that looks like the tops of roofs from the village could be easily tacked on there)

Oh yeah, I totally didn't notice that when I watched the video but you can see the back of the building there. Odd!?! They took the time to make sure everything else was covered.
Great video, though. Thanks!

Anyone notice that this might be almost too nice of a area, because it makes the rest of the land look cheap in comparison. (IMO, this area is the nicest thing to come to the MK in Decades with all the detail. though the rides fall short in my opinion.)

I have to say that this is the one flaw with the expansion, it's all great but the exteriors and queues make the attractions inside them look less impressive.

So one thing I've noticed is that each of these areas has distinctly themed water fountains. I absolutely love the look of this entire area.

I noticed that too. I really like the ones in he mermaid area...

It indeed looks nice does not hide the fact that it could have been much more.

Everything ever built anywhere could always have been "much more". And that includes practically everything ever built at a Disney theme park as well. Typically, initial Imagineering plans are so much more gradiose, but fiscal reality results in a scaled down final product. So, BTMRR not Thunder Mesa, a PoTC that is half that at DL, etc. I enjoy those things, and most other attractions, despite the fact that they could have been so much more.

This is amazing. Even the view of Cinderella castle is amazing. I can't believe how beautiful this turned out. Better than I ever dreamed. Though I do wish the original plans wouldn't have changed. It's clear this is more than just an environment. It's actually a world. I would have liked to have seen the theming that the other 2 houses would have gotten. This would have been a World Showcase of Princesses. And that would have been amazing. And it's even more clear now after seeing that video. Anyway, BRAVO TDO.

There could always be more with everything though. You don't have to have loops and fast speeds to be stellar. Just enjoy what was produced here - this type of theming hasn't been done in WDW since AK. Personally, my breath was taken away by this area.

Exactly, thanks!

People are always saying how amazing DisneySEA looks, which it really does, even more so in person. But it seriously lacks in rides, there aren't that many. That doesn't stop it from being Disney's best park.

My favorite part of the park (if it's even possible to have just one) is Cape Cod, and it doesn't have any rides, just a store, a restaurant and a M&G. Oh look, there's a store, a restaurant and a M&G in the BatB area as well.

Doesn't TDS have more rides than any park at WDW except MK?

From the map I have (from 2008, when I went) not counting transportation, I see 14 rides, 5 of which are located in Mermaid Lagoon, which are basically all kinds of spinners and one kiddie coaster. Since then they have added TSM, Turtle Talk and the Jasmine spinner.

I don't think it's a high number of rides, considering the scope of the park

Compare that to 10 rides at Epcot, I would love for the TDS attraction lineup vs. the Epcot attraction lineup.

Let's do it then! I don't have anything better to do right now
not counting shows, transportation and videos

DisneySEA (11 rides + 6 spinners/flat rides/etc)

Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, Turtle Talk, Journey, 20.000 Leagues, StormRider, Aquatopia, Indiana Jones, Raging Spirits, Sinbad, Flounder's Coaster
+
Jasmine's Carpets, Caravan Carousel, Scuttle's Scooters, Jumpin' Jellyfish, Blowfish Balloon Race, The Whirlpool

EPCOT (10/11 rides)

Spaceship Earth, Universe of Energy, Mission Space, Test Track, Imagination, Soarin', Living with the Land (not sure it even counts) The Seas, Turtle Talk, El Rio Del Tiempo, Maelstrom

DisneySEA has plenty of indoor and outdoor shows as well as a lot of different ways to get around the park.
While Epcot has a lot of outdoor shows and performances and videos for the countries.

Obviously the DisneySEA attractions are all in better shape, have more relevance and fit their respective areas better than most of Epcot attractions. But I don't think they're SO far ahead in terms of attractions. The biggest difference for me is atmosphere and the imersiveness of the whole park.

PS: doing this just for fun, not trying to bash anybody's opinions/preferences
