Via Napoli construction scrim now completely removed

I'm concerned because all these pics are head on and it appears to be a 1-2ft thick facade (like the New York facades at the studio) hoping to trick the eye that it is a three dimensional building.

I hope this is not the case.

Ditto. I still say something looks off about the new facade. I'm not sure if thats it, but something just isn't quite right.

...Wonder how it will compare to DHS's Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano....

One will be Disney operated, the other is third-party, so that should be interesting to see in terms of comparisons. The version of Naples at Disneyland was in the past very impressive, but on my last visit last year I wasn't so impressed, so we'll have to see how it pans out.

I'm dissapointed. Of all the amazing architecture in Italy...they nearly duplicated the building next door. Nearly the same trim around the windows, "jars" on the roof line. Same colors, same scale. (no forced perspective.)

And I don't know if anyone has been in Italy around dinner time, but the line for Tutto Italia fills that plaza. This is more like an Italian themed strip-mall.

There was more imagination poured into the new Donald Duck meet and greet than this restaurant.

^^ Boy, I hope that is not true. Having been to Italy, I agree with your assessment that there is much variety in building styles. Not about that gondola attraction that ends in Vesuvius erupting... ;)

I was hoping for a quick service (like what was originally announced?) but appearance wise and location wise it looks great. Always felt that Italy was incomplete and this does well to fill the gap at the rear of the pavilion.

Though I do guess this dashes my hopes of a seeing Colosseum there any time soon

I know that the fountain is still there, but if your at the outside dining of via napoli, what are you looking at, a brick wall? Did they put something back there? doesnt seem to great to me just yet. need to see the final product. Food wise, super expensive pizzas and pastas?

That's what I was thinking when the original artwork came out and construction began - how out of place the fountain/sculpture might look from the backside. Hopefully at the very least there is a planter on the backside with some taller greenery.

Of course, if there is an outdoor seating area like we saw in some of the artwork, the fountain and its housing would help provide a nice buffer for noise and visual privacy between the seating and the rest of the main courtyard.

Someone needs to get pics looking over the wall towards the back of the fountain from near the entrance of Tutto Italia! :lookaroun

Hopefully not! If it does, we all know where the quality of the food will end up.

I don't believe there has been any information on that yet.

Wow, it would be awesome if it was NOT on the Dining Plan! But I imagine this is just wishful thinking.
