I realize I'm no more special or privileged than the next.....but if anyone has an inside scoop about when the Very Merry Christmas Party tix will go on sale...I'd sure love to know.

Cirque de Soleil will be closed during my stay, I'd hate to be dissapointed twice.

There must be a spy out there ......somewhere.....

Can't say for sure, but we have been a couple of times (two years ago was the most recent) and I believe I purchased them the first part of October. I have known of nights to sell out, so you will need to buy early. The first time we went was the second night they had it and the last time we went was the last evening they had it. If you can, go during one of the first nights, they seem to be the least crowded. Either way it is alot of fun and I will do it again, just not this year, going in August!! Try checking mousesavers.com and even disneyworld.com daily to see if they post anything. Good luck and have fun.:D

Do not go to the official Disney Web site for info. (esp. for special tickets). Check this web forum or mousesavers or call WDW directly. The reason I say this is because we purchased the tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party last week and received them yesterday thru the mail. If you go to the official web site, they say the tickets are not available. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT. You would think that the official web site would have up to date info.

But don't get me started on their web site and the web cams!

Back in 1999 we went and had purchased the tickets at the Poly only about two or three days in advance. It was however for Monday night. I would assume the weekends sell out first.

We've been toying with the idea of going to the Very Merry Christmas Party for a couple of years now, but we aren't sure if it's worth it. At the risk of sounding silly, what makes this so special? I haven't really heard too much about it to date.

Its pretty much an Eride night, with big Perimiter fireworks all around the Magic Kingdom - very cool - well worth it!!

They have cookies and hot choclotte throughout the park, it snows on Main Street, Parade with Santa, they take family photos that they mail to you, lots of characters set up for photo opt., almost no lines for rides.

It really is a fun time! They only sell a limited amount of tickets so the crowd is very sparse. I went on Splash Mountain and had the boat to myself. I came back and there was no one waiting and they ask if I just wanted to stay in the boat and ride again!:D

Same here. Last year, we were the first in line for Space Mountain and we rode it 3 times with no waiting. It is really weird seeing that ride without all the people in line>:D

It really is! Even though there are no people in line it's still long (distance wise):p

I think the Walt Disney World Site or Intercot.com site can help you with the dates. Call 407-WDISNEY and they can tell you the dates and sell you the tickets.

We try to go every year. We usually go in the final weekend it is held in December, to really get the holiday spirit. We have even had cold weather when we go, so it really feels liek Winter (Florida's version of it anyway. One year it got down to the low 30's when we attened - brrrr!) It is everything everyone above said. It really gets you in the Xmas mood. Even my teenagers, who don't admit to liking anyything, want to go each year.

Thanks for the info! It sounds like a blast! I never realised that it is such a happening time. Cookies, hot chocolate, snow (well, I could do without the snow, I get enough up here every winter but it must be a spectacular sight). I guess I'll just have to make sure we go next year! :D

Snow is great as long as you don't have to shovel it or drive in it. :p

This winter was terrible. We had over 80 inches of snow and over 100 straight days where the temperature never went over 30 degrees.

I remember when i went to the VMCP. The thing had just started I was the first in line to get cookies/ hot chocolate. I was getting some cookies and hot chocolate.( not that bad). Then when I turned around i saw a little 3 yr old run up to a big bowl of marshmellows and stick his hands in there and take tons of them!!! He was leaning over the bowl with some of them coming out of his mouth. SICK SICK SICK SICK !!! So I just skiped that part of the refresment stand. Laterzzzzz

Haven't verified this personally, but on one of the DisneyWorld News Boards someone posted that tickets for MVMCP were suppose to go on Sale on Monday, August 13th. They said that they were told by a CM.

Date given on call

I phoned a couple weeks ago and was told to check back on 8/13 (that was the unofficial date my reservations clerk at the Disney Club had been told!):D

Keep calling CRO frequently just to be safe but usually it doesn't actually sell out until a few days before because a lot of people don't plan ahead and just see it is happening when they get their check-in materials or get to the park in the morning.

I've been several years and I totally think it is worth it. The parade ... with snow, is so amazing. There is a special Castle Forecourt stage show and a special show with Minnie in the Snowshoe and a special show in the Tomorrowland Theatre. The hot chocolate is good (and they put the marshmallows in for you now to eliminate the 'self-serve' problem). They show the parade twice and it is the famous Disney Christmas parade with the tons of marching toy soldiers, the gingerbread men, etc., etc.

The only thing better is the Candlelight Processional. You have to call and book the Dinner Tickets for the late show because that show is overwhelming.
