I am going with my family to Disney World in September with 2 park visits. My dad is a vegetarian. Can anyone suggest restaurants with decent vegetarian options at Epcot and Animal Kingdom so I can make reservations. Thank you.

Love a little Disney every day!! ;)
All have vegetarian options that will not even be on the menu besides the ones that are on most menus. Let them know at any location that he is a vegetarian and they will give you options. WDW is the best at special dietary requests or needs. Look at the menus on here or on MDE to see the choices at all dining locations that are actually on the menu. But again they often will accommodate even if you don't see anything on the menu he will like. ;)

Going this month with 4 vegetarians. This can be done without too much of a fuss.

EPCOT, Marakesh, Teppan Edo are probably the best but even the UK, Italian and Mexican restaurants have options.

DAK, Sanaa or Jiko for fine dining, amonst the best outright veg or no veg. Boma has a great buffet with lots of options.

Disney Springs, I would recomend Morimotos.

But almost anywhere you will find a veg burger, pasta, mac n cheese, wraps, salads etc.

EPCOT my favorite qs places are SS and TC. The only meal I wasn't happy with was Chefs but then again even my carnivores were not happy last time we went. AK Th has lots on the buffet. Y&Y has an option but I haven't tried it. I'm vegan and have always managed to find something everywhere and only been unhappy at 3 places. Chefs, Sci Fi and Hollywood and Vile

At Animal Kingdom, if you want a good QS stop by Mr.Kamal's for their samosas and falafels. We always eat there for lunch and then stop on our way out to get some samosas to go to be able to snack on back at the cabin. If you're looking for a TS at Animal Kingdom I'd try to get a reservation at Tusker House. They have so many veg options.
At Epcot Sunshine Seasons is a really good QS with several veg options. There is a veg disney group on Facebook that stays very up to date with all things veg at Disney. Just search for "veg disney". Your dad will not go hungry!

I'm assuming you are wanting only TS options since you mentioned making reservations so here are some favorites:

Epcot
- Chefs de France, Garden Grill (Family Style), Spice Road Table (Tapas), Tutto Gusto,

DAK - Tiffin's (Haven't been but it looks amazing), Tusker House (Buffet), Yak & Yeti

Many many moons ago, I was a vegetarian at Disney World. When booking my dining reservations, I added in the "Diet Restrictions" area that I was vegetarian. I specifically remember getting a yummy veg meal at San Angel Inn.

I know for certain that you can also get delicious veg food in Morocco, Japan, and China. But as others have said, every restaurant has vegetarian-friendly selections for guests if you ask.

Every restaurant will accommodate dietary restrictions as best they can. The only locations that really will have problems without advance notice are those with a limited menu/pantry like Hoop De Doo Review, as they may simply not have food on hand. Have it noted on your reservation, mention it again to the host when you check in, and you will get help, either in the form of a special diet menu, or possibly a discussion with a member of the kitchen staff.

TS at AK you are a bit limited, Yak & Yeti has a bunch of dishes they will swap the chicken for Tofu, I recall Rainforest Cafe only having a pasta dish and maybe a veggie burger that was veg friendly. Can't speak to Tusker House, it's been eons since I've eaten there. Several options at the carts/kiosks - tofu falafel and the like, but some of those locations are seasonal.

TS at Epcot is ok, I think the only place I would advise avoiding is Monsieur Paul. I ate there when it was Bistro de Paris, so things may have changed but their idea of a vegetarian dish was 3 of the veggies sides on a plate. Be careful in China, the rice is supposedly made with chicken stock, so is not veg friendly. Sunshine Seasons and Tangierine Cafe are huge favorites for those of us who don't eat meat.

WDW is very vegetarian friendly. We never go hungry here!

Here are our favorites:
AKL: Saana, get the bread service!
BCV: Beaches & Cream. they have the best veggie burger I've ever had!
Many of the QSs at AK. I can't think of the names now but they are all good!

Also, many of the TSs will make special veggie food for you if you ask! Last time we visited, BOG made me a pasta dish with fresh veggies and California Grill, made us four different veggie feast that are not on the menu!

Be careful with this question. It brings out a miserable soul whose former husband was a chef at WDW. He would get irate when a vegetarian would ask about veggie food. Then the miserable soul would admonish people who were vegetarians, because it is a "lifestyle choice."

But my absolute favorite veggie meal is the vegetarian bento box at Flying Fish Cafe. :)

Vegetarian food can be pretty dire at Disney... They rely largely on tofu which tastes like wall paper paste. I think they assume you need a direct meat substitute, which of course you don't. The best advice is go for world cuisine... Asian, African, middle eastern, Chinese, Japanese because they incorporate a good range of vegetarian in to their food anyway, and don't need to modify their menu for you. I eat fish, and that is very good, but not everyone does.

Hi I’m Pete Puma and I usually have a diet of red meat, red meat and red meat covered in bacon, however once in a while I get crazy and order something green and/or health. Some of the vegan dishes I have enjoyed at WDW are;

Earl of Sandwich – the veggie sandwich

Grand Floridian – spinach ravioli

Tutto Italia – the eggplant parm

These have cheese so I'm not sure if they are totally vegan, but hey I'm a puma.

Has anyone done the Garden Grill breakfast at Epcot with both vegetarian and meat eaters sharing a table? My hubby and daughter eat meat but I am strict vegetarian. Will the cast member be able to keep the meat separate when serving? Don't want to come across difficult to them as I'm sure there be really busy. Thanks

I don't have an answer to your question but do you mean like if they're cooked in separate pans or not? I guarantee you'd have to ask to make sure they keep your food seperate, although since you can't see the kitchen they could just lie about honoring your request :p
