Value Resort Question

Hey everyone,

I'm contemplating a value resort for the 1st week of May, but I have a couple of questions for the board.

1. I want to request a king bed, but are they all handicapped accessible rooms? I'm traveling with a 19 month old and need a bathtub...

2. I also need to make "a second bedroom" for my little one, do value resorts have the curtain near the vanity so we could put her crib in there and pull it closed for bedtime?

When I last stayed at the Poly, we hung some command hooks on the wall and draped a blanket over them so she could sleep in the little hallway near the bathroom. I worked out great, but I'd rather not resort to this method if I could avoid it.

Thanks for your help!

I could be wrong, but I believe the value resorts have a very limited number of rooms with the king bed and bathtub. All ears has pictures of one of these rooms here http://allears.net/acc/g_asmu.htm in the calypso buildings.

I'm also fairly certain the the value rooms do not have curtains separating the sinks from the bedroom with the exception of the family suites at ASMusic. When we stayed at Pop Century there weren't any. I'm pretty sure that the moderates do have the curtains, if this helps you.

Values dint have the curtain. Plus the square footage of the room is tiny. If you go with the moderate you will have the curtain and a bit extra room

Actually, there's one value resort that has curtains. All of the refurbed rooms at AS Music have the curtains that seperate the vanity area from the room. But that being said, I don't know if there would be enough room to put a crib (or whatever) in there. It's a pretty small space... I don't think it would fit!?!

Pop Century has curtains in some of the rooms in the 70s near the bathroom as seen here but that doesn't give you a lot of room

I'm not sure if King beds are in the 70s or not but I know they are made to be handicap accessible. The bathrooms still have tubs and stuff but they have rails of the sides here's an image of that

I'm not sure about the allstars they might be a bit different:shrug:

EDIT: to answer your last question yes all values do have double beds. If you don't want a king

I have had a preffered room in the values (Sports and Pop) with a king bed and never had a tub. I don't know if that is unusual but it has happened each time I requested a king bed. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure I want to bet the odds on getting a refurbed room at PC... With my luck I'd get one of the old rooms...

I guess you're going to have to move up to a mod or if you can swing the cost get a family suite at AS Music. Then you could put your kid in the seperate room and close the door. We love the suites btw, I think they're totally worth the money when comparing other rooms on property. Having two bathrooms and a kitchenette is awesome!

Whenever we got a king bed in a room it was always a shower only, even the 7th floor at Wilderness Lodge was a king with shower only (was our honeymoon room)

I would try to go for the suite or go with a mod, we just let our kids adjust to staying in a room with the lights or tv on when we took our 3 kids, my mom and hubby and I. We stayed at Riverside with trundle then.

For a couple of extra bucks you could get a suite at the All Star Music Resort. Still a value resort but a suite...

If you have the room- you could take an extension rod and an extra sheet and make a curtain! I do this when I go to the shore. Hope this helps and have a great time!;)

For a couple of extra bucks? ;) In no way trying to sound rude (promise!!), but you could get 2 rooms at ASMusic for LESS than a suite. Still wondering why people think they're such a good deal? It a kitchenette really worth that much?

In POP (just like all the All Stars), there's of course the tiny area beneath the shelf in the closet. I don't know if anything would fit in there though...a crib would probably block the bathroom door for anyone who would need it during the night :( There's some great deals going on for resorts now, though, so maybe a moderate would be ok price-wise?

remember, nothing is guaranteed at disney resorts, they are just that, requests. We stayed at PC with a king, It comes with a handicap shower. Never understood why kings have showers and not tubs, its not like a king is taking up more room than two queens. They dont even offer kings at the poly, believe that! Have to be in asuite to get one.

Well, actually a suite is a little less than the cost of two rooms when comparing it to preferred room location prices (which I consider a fair comparison as the suites are located in Calpyso and Jazz buildings.)

Comparing them with other rooms on property that offer the same or similar thing... yes, I think they're a good deal. This is NOT comparing them with rooms off property (that opens up a whole world of choice).

I like the seating area... you feel like you can come "home" and relax, sit down and talk, etc. Two full bathrooms with two little vanity areas to change in as well (if need be). A seperate bedroom with a queen bed! Two TVs. Two closets and tons of storage in the two TV armoire units. And a kitchenette with a slightly bigger fridge, microwave, another sink, and even more storage space.

So yes, I guess you could say I find the suites to be a good deal!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but what do you mean by just a shower? No tub and a walk in stall instead?
