Validating AP vouchers

I was told by a Disney agent that I can validate my AP voucher at the TTC or any of the theme parks. They can't be validated at the hotels or the water parks. My question is how do I get into a park to validate my AP voucher, since I don't have the pass yet? Is showing the voucher good enough? If I'm using Disney transportation, will they let me on the bus without the actual pass? If we rent a car, do we have to pay for parking since we don't have the actual pass?

We're staying at the AKL so getting them at Animal Kingdom seemed like the easiest thing to do, especially if we rent a carm so we don't have to deal with any extra stops. But if actually getting into the park proves to be difficult, is it easier just to go to the TTC?

You can validate them outside the gates by Quest Services.

You can validate them at Downtown Disney at the Guest Relations area. I am not aware of if they would charge you for parking with a voucher but without the AP, but onsite Hotel guests also park inb the theme parks for free, so that may not be an issue. All of the Guest Relations areas are available outside of the gates of every park. So you dont have to pay to get into a park to validate the APs. Have fun and enjoy!! Belle

One piece of advice I would suggest is to bring with you a copy of any paperwork you have related to your APs. It will make replacement in the case of a lost pass very easy.

they are validated in the vacation planning windows outside the park gates. I park at the kennels, and do mine at the TTC. Then it's off to the parks.

We had this issue last November and went to our resort, showed them the voucher and said we were on our way to the parks. They did not question it, and allowed us to check in. As I understand it this is not normal procedure, but at a minimum you can park at your resort, take the bus to one of the parks and get your passes validated then return to actually check in.

There is no cost to park at the resort you're staying at, or any of them for that matter.

I also had the same question before my trip. I guess I was lucky because they didn't ask me to show my AP, the receptionist even told me if I needed tickets.She didn't bother to check that my reservation was an AP rate. I had my voucher just in case they needed to see it.

also, if you are driving your own transportation, and your voucher doesnt let you bypass park parking, such as Magic Kingdom. Then, go ahead and pay the 8 dollar fee, then, after you redeem your voucher at a smiling faces-filled guest relations window, they can refund your parking, fee, quite easily I might add!

You could pay the $8 parking and validate your tickets. But this is what I do...CHECK IN FIRST! Since you are staying on Disney property check in to the hotel...even if its still morning. You probably won't be given a room number until 2-3 o'clock but they will give you your PARKING PASS-entitling you to free parking anywhere on property. This makes checking in much much quicker later on. Usually they have your room number waiting for you at the customer service desk when you come back later that day.This way you don't have to wait in line...which can be rather long in the early afternoon.I always do this every year and it works out better, in fact I always pre-check in because I'm given a room sometimes at 11 or 12 oclock making the day seem longer.You are also more likely to get special requests filled and FREE upgrades.

I agree completely about checking in as soon as you arrive, not matter what time of day it is. We always do that, get our parking pass, have our luggage stored and it's off to the parks. Upon returning after check-in time, we just pick up our keys and call the bell desk for our bags. Much easier than the mid-afternoon crush. I also feel better having our luggage out of an unattended vehicle.

We didn't need to show our ap vouchers to get our room "keys", although I had them handy. We weren't even asked to show our room "keys" or proof of staying on property to get our wrist bands for 2 of the eride nights we went to in early June. On a whim one night we just went into city hall to see if any bands were still available and the cm said yes and sold them to us right then, without any questions.
