I remember when vacation clubs were first starting ( Old Key West was actually called Vacation Club) we went to tour it. Kids were young and they stayed at their day care for hour or so. Then we were all give free sundaes and a $50 certificate to use at any restaurant. Do they still give perks like that on their tours?

Not exactly the same. The tour now happens at Saratoga Springs. They still take your kids to a day care area for the hour where they can watch movies, play video games, color, etc while the parents do the tour. Once the tour is done they reunite you with your kids and take you to their ice cream parlour for some ice cream, and they give each of the members of your part a vacation club fastpass (it's good for 3 fastpasses, and they are instant fastpasses, meaning that the fastpass you get from the machine when you use the card can be used right away). They will also take your picture and put it in a vacation club frame (a cardboard frame) if you wish. We did it a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

My last trip there were people on the Monorail saying that were planning on attending something at the Contemporary and they were going to receive 50 dollar gift cards for their trouble. And I think an offer was left at my door as well(but I am on vacation, I don't feel like sitting through a sales pitch).

I would like to do it once, but I am not interested in Saratoga or Old Key West. I would like to see the AKL and Bay Lake. Do you get to tour those? Thanks!!

You go to Saratoga Springs and they have a dedicated building that has actual rooms from the DVC resorts and you get to go in them. You can always go directly to the resort and look around them yourself. Ours lasted about 2 hours but we had alot of questions and we knew we were going to buy into it. We did alot of research before we went on our trip and knew most of the stuff they told us, but we did not feel any pressure. It makes sense if you have young kids and go once a year. We got 10 fastpass cards with 3 fastpasses on each and a $50 gift card.
