"You'll soon have to pay for peanuts on one of Buffalo's biggest airlines.
Rising fuel costs are prompting U.S. Airways to end it's practice of giving coach customers free snacks on domestic flights. The new policy takes effect this Sunday, June 1st.
U.S. Airways Spokesperson Morgan Durrant sent the following statement:

Rising fuel costs are prompting U.S. Airways to end it's practice of giving coach customers free snacks on domestic flights. The new policy takes effect this Sunday, June 1st.
U.S. Airways Spokesperson Morgan Durrant sent the following statement:
"This was a difficult decision but one we felt had to be made with crude oil at $130 per barrel. The move does not affect trans-Atlantic service in any cabin or First Class service, only domestic coach. Removing snacks reduces our costs which is critical with fuel being extremely expensive."
