What is your advise?....I am sending a tree ahead of time to the resort for Xmas.....so this question goes to anyone who has sent a tree or anything ..did you use UPS or USPS? AND how far ahead did you send it?

Thanks :)

I have not sent anything to Disney before but I would go with UPS. Their delivery times seem to be a bit more consistent that USPS and the tracking system is a little better.

UPS for sure. They're tracking system is much better; you can do ground, 3 day, 2 day or overnight service, depending on how much you want to spend. I usually do two day when I am doing something like this. If I were planning on arriving on Saturday, I would have the package arrive on Friday (sent on Wednesday via two day service). Always put "HOLD FOR GUEST" followed by the name on the reservation in the recepient spot.

I did this last year. We sent two boxes, one with a tree and one with already wrapped gifts to the Poly. I used UPS. We were arriving on a Tuesday and I sent exactly a week prior. I used the cheapest method, ground, and both packages made it there (from Mass.) on Friday. I had asked a DRC CM who posts here (JPVonDrake) what to put on the boxes. He said to put my name, reservation number, date we were arriving, and of course the resort address. They held the boxes at the front desk until we checked in on Tuesday. It was super easy, and nothing was damaged. They also held the box with our kids' presents at the desk until Christmas Eve, b/c we did not want them in the room with us. What I also like about UPS is they give you a tracking number, so I was able to check on the package's progress and I knew when they had made it there. I will be using UPS again this year. :xmas:

If you decide to use USPS you can get delivery confirmation which also provides a tracking number. It only costs 85 cents more. Last year I shipped some flat rate USPS boxes down for our Christmas celebration and my aunt shipped some boxes using UPS. Both took about the same time but hers cost less.:(
