TSR will be serving Lunch and Dinner, QSR serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Current goal is to have at least SOME part of the restaurant open by FY07 (end of september)

In 2007, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park Guests will be able to enjoy both a table service and quick service restaurant in Asia. Schussler Creative and Landry's, best known on property for the Rainforest Cafe, will build an approximately 17.000 square foot two story restaurant. This will be the first Operating Participant to operate a dining facility within the Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park.
Geographically, the restaurant will be located in the mythical town of Anandapur, a small, poor, rural village in the Himalayan foothills, just steps away from the new Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain attraction. The grand old house of one of Anandapur's wealthiest merchants has been converted to this fine indoor dining experience featuring his collection of artifacts including statues, fine tapestries and 900 pound, gold inlaid silk puppets. The outdoor seating area will be set amongst lush greenery, authentic artifacts, fountains and a sacred lingham stone river. This Asian-fusion establishment will offer table-service dining, a full service bar, as well as quick-service food and beer garden options, along with retail offerings from Pan Asia ranging from silk purses, incense and saris to fine teapots. It will seat 250 inside for table service dining and 350 in their quick service courtyard.

I'm still VERY curious as to what the menu will be like. As a lover of all Asian food, I think I could end up liking this place.

Thanks for the press release. I am looking forward to the announcement as to when they will begin accepting ADRs for the table-service side of Y&Y. I have a small window of opportunity and don't want to miss out.

This sounds like it has great potential with more information. It really seems like they are focusing on the food and an authentic atmosphere instead of the sort of kitschy, touristy Rainforest & Aquarium. I am excited to see the final product.

I agree! When will CRO start taking ADRs?

So... can/should we expect the same shoddy service, and lack luster over priced food as Rainforest then? :veryconfu :lookaroun

I'm encouraged about the end result of the Y&Y.
Recently, I met with one the the senior people in charge of the project about their beverage offerings (which will be outstanding). I got the distinct impression that the Y&Y is a top priority all the way up to to founder and CEO, and that they really want to make a statement to Disney and the public in hopes of garnering more of the resort dining operations.

I don't expect another Rainforest Cafe.

Sure... the ambiance is nice, dare I say "great" even (I love those aquariums)... and kids love the place... but as far as overall quality of service [compared to Disney CMs] and quality of food is concerned... I have never had a good experience.

I am just speaking for myself here. I do know others love the place and the line is out the door with 2hr standby wait times... Again I am just speaking for myself here. :)

I tend to agree. I always "want" to like The Rainforest, because it is such a unique experience, but it always seems like the food is overpriced and not that great.

i love rainforest cafes, and i think the food is amazing.

As for the Y&Y, I kinda like asian food and am anxious to see what kind of menu it will display. And as for the few steps from everest, isnt it like a quarter to half mile from everest?

Appreciate the posting Shrike! Your input has appeased my concerns and I now actually look forward to giving it a whirl when it opens.

I hope the estimates are right on for end of Sept. I'll be there +/- a few days around then and will make an effort to catch it.:sohappy:
