Funny that Re-Dis mentioned the menu changes because I heard this a couple of weeks ago from some managers and didn't really think the information would merit a new post on this forum (read: I'm too lazy to post). They were also talking about other countries and their menus..... :slurp:

I've never really found philharmagic to be all that great to me anyhow. I'd rather ride any of the dark rides over that. I'm just not a big fan of film based shows I guess. There was a time when 3d shows with in theatre effects were something to get excited about. That is no longer the case however.

Well, yes, but if it's just a quick change re-voicing Father through the whole attraction might be out of scope. Though I suppose I should have spelled it out with a big disclaimer of 'with the current voice cast', but I figured my point would go across.
It would be like the swapping in and out of the oldest sister from Rosanne. One episode they froze and stated that she would be played by the 2nd chick because the first had other obligations. Still cracks me up today.

People still actually watch Rosanne?.......

Same here. that's one of the "classic sounds" of BTM. Oh well.

I agree, but I'll admit it's pure nostalgia. The new lift technologies are faster, more reliable, and don't take as much maintenance in the long run. So, go for it. I can pretend while I'm there.

As for the rest, sounds good. If TSM is getting upgrades before it opens, that's great by me. I'd much rather a month delay than have an attraction that is fully put together.

Thanks, as always, for the updates!

Really though, that sound has gotten a hell of a lot louder over the past 10 years, and I know my ears haven't gotten better.

At least with Roseanne they joked about it at the end of the first episode she was in.

Roseanne: I can't believe they switched Darrens and thought that we would be too stupid to notice?

New Beckie: I like the new Darren.

Why would they update an attraction that sends people to the hospital?

Maybe they can pipe in a digitized classic sound to the new and improved BTM lift hill that is not so LOUD :hammer:

Thanks for the update. I am excited for BTMR. I personnally like the loud noise of the chain lift. It makes it sound like a train. Oh well.
I think the loudness detracts from the ride more than it enhances. what they should do is use the EE lift technology and put some audio of a steam train into the locomotive. Now that would be authentic.

Is it really worth using EE technology? EE is cool because you get lifted like 200 feet in no time ... BTM is what? maybe a 40 foot lift? You'd be lifted in under a second

Plus though the chain has gotten too loud, I do enjoy the old crank lift system, it is an ol' fashioned railroad after all.

What Was That You Said? Speak Up I Cant Hear You! Did You Say That They Were Upgrading To A Fifth Pill On Plunder Fountain? What Is Plunder Fountain And Why Does In Need More Pills? I Am Sorry For Yelling But I Am Still Partially Deaf From The Extremely Loud Clacking Noise On The Lift Hills Of BTM. Are They Ever Going To Get Around To Fixing Those?

nice.

And it has gotten louder, no doubt. And, many of th new systems still have clacking anti-rollback dogs, so the sound will likely not go away, just change. I'm all for it.

And, just to prevent any thread drifts, the lifts at BTMRR have never (or at least to my knowledge) caused any problems with rider safety. Brake runs might be another story... especially on the left coast. :lookaroun

I'll give you that. I just like the loud noise. Maybe i've just come used to it. It is extremely loud, but to each his own.:D

I'm sorry, could you please speak more clearly -- I'm a tad deaf in my left ear.
