Also slightly OT:
Just how close was Fire Mountain to being greenlit? That seemed to be an extremely well-supported rumor at the time.
Same with the Epcot Gemini project - is that still on any agendas?
Thanks!
Fire Mountain—not sure; you'll have to ask Lee.
Project Gemini—Epcot's current direction is a modified version of Project Gemini, but instead of renaming Future World, WDI kept the name and updated the attractions. Plus, SSE is remaining mostly the same! Here are some examples of the PG changes:
Living Seas with Ariel | Seas with Nemo
Land rollercoaster | Soarin'
Incredible Space Pavilion (with multiple attractions) | Mediocre Mission:Space
Time Racers replacing SSE | Updated, futuristic SSE

New attractions for WS | New attraction on the horizon, but not greenlit yet
Replace WoL | Still waiting for a replacement
Update UoE | Still waiting
Make Imagination worthy of its original attractions | On its way! :sohappy:
As you can see, although Project Gemini did not materialize according to its original plans, some of its aspects were included in the current Epcot makeover.
Frankly, I'm glad. If Epcot isn't constantly updated, it will die. WDI just needs to make sure that the new attractions are as good as the originals (look at the Imagination fiasco).
