I know that this should go in Imagineering, but nobody ever comments in there, so I'll put it here so hopefully people will read this...
Anyway, I saw Up today and thought it was an amazing film in every way. Definitely one of the best films Pixar has ever made. It is a film that would make an excellent attraction, so here's my pitch for a ride based on Up...
Title: Journey Up
Ride system: Peter Pan's Flight System
Ride storyline: Basically you will get to live out the general plot from the movie. Guests will board vehicles that look like couches with balloons attached. Each vehicle will seat two rows of up to 3 guests per row. Guests will journey from the beginning of the film all the way to South America with Carl and Russell. I would like to incorporate several special effects such as clouds while the vehicles are flying above ground, smells from each area, advanced animatronics and really putting the guests into an animated world. I'd also like to see image capture incorporated so guests can see themselves as part of the world of Up.
Prefered Location: The first places that come to mind as far as where to locate this attraction would be Magic Kingdom in either Fantasyland or Adventureland or Hollywood Studios in Pixar Place. Adventureland seems like the best spot for this ride, but I'd rather see it at Hollywood Studios because they really don't have any traditional style dark rides there, at all.
So, sound like a good consept idea?
