Unsanitary situations in WDW

Yep, they are a species of roach. I guess most people think they are German Cockroaches, but those guys are tiny and dark in coloring. Palmetto bugs are still gross though :(

I just wanted everyone to know the difference. I've seen Palmetto bugs in Mk, but that doesn't mean that it's dirty. They are just looking for moisture. Most of the time when I see them, it's when I put the water on in the shower.
In the part of North Carolina, where I live, they are called yard beetles. The move really fast and get in when you open a door. However, if they don't find water, they die pretty quickly. Surprisingly, in spite of their ability to move fast when trying to get in, they are incredibly easy to catch and stomp into everlasting bug mulch.

Good hand washing is the best defense against infection. But a little hand sanitizer can't hurt, either. I have some friends who go way off every time one of their kids get a stomach bug. The whole house gets bleached and every one gets sent to their room for solitary confinement for the duration of the illness. The lengths that these folks go to to avoid germs is really quite comical. But the funny thing is...these people are always sick. There is always some bug or cold or whatever going on. I told them once that their immune systems are not well-developed because they haven't built up enough immunity to anything. They didn't like my saying that. o_O

One of my pet peeves...a single used band aid floating along ruins an entire pool/water park for me. I am sure it is a sign of dysfunction at some level but that just skeeves me out to the moon and back.

Man, this is me EXACTLY!!! My number one thing that can skeeve me in the entire world!!!

Unless she was changing the diaper on YOUR table, I fail to see why losing ones lunch would even come into the thought pattern.

You don't get why seeing and smelling a dirty diaper being changed on the table next to me while I am eating could induce nausea? You must have a very strong stomach then. Sounds like a person I wouldn't mind sitting near on SM, ST, EE, MS, etc.

And I do have 8 nieces and nephews and 2 kids of my own and have changed hundreds of diapers over the years but that doesn't mean that I never gag a little at the sights or smells associated with baby poop. Especially when I am eating. Interestingly enough though there have been times when I have eaten lunch while watching an episode of Bones and it didn't bother me. Go figure!

Not sure why you feel that would be perfectly fine, even from a distance. I'm not saying I'd throw up, but many people have a more sensitive gag reflex and tolerance for human feces during dinner.

It certainly would be a possibility for others to find a baby being changed in their field of vision a reason to get a little nauseous.

Hell, I've eaten while changing diapers. It's a body function, not a disaster film.

I don't know, but there are so many nasty ppeople here right now that don't wash their hands after using the bathroom or cover their face when they sneeze or cough. That is why I'm having this little respiratory issue now.

We're going to pick up some hand sanitizer tonight and I've gotten myself into the habit of NOT touching handrails or anything else these nasties have touched.

Allergies aren't contagious.

I guess it's okay then. :)

I didn't say it wasn't gross, although I'm having a hard time figuring out how the guy managed to sneeze on everybody. I was responding to the assumption that he is sick and needs a doctor. It could amount to not much more then getting a few drops of liquid on someone. And how does he get close enough to sneeze on people while riding a raft?

And that reason would be to scare the life out of the human race and sell lots more wipes and bottles of Purell.

Ha! The Board of Health sells wipes and Purell. Learn something everyday.

So is the Board of Health making up the Ebola outbreak too to scare the life out of people too so the drug manufacturers call sell more meds? ;)
