Unpopular Disney World Opinions

Nope, this is my honest opinion, and it has nothing to do with song selection. I've never liked that fake, sugary-sweet pop sound and have never felt it fit in with their period dress, patriotic song selection or the rotunda setting. I believe I have described the LS as what a Hallmark Card from the late 70s would sound like.

I do have an appreciation the talent of the singers themselves. My wife was a voice major and one of her friends was a LS. I was at her senior recital and let me tell you, I teared up because of her beautiful voice. She could sing in ANY opera around the world. But, no, she was forced to modify her voice to fit the LS sound. Those are NOT their natural singing voices, and LS would be so much better if they could sing the way they were born to sing.

1) I always thought reusing the old parade floats was cheap and lazy compared to the puppets from the old Legend of the Lion King show at Magic Kingdom.
2) The script and behavior of the 4 hosts always seemed "stereotypical African" to me, and having the plus size singer represent the Warthog section by leading us in making pig oinks and snorts was personally offensive to my wife and I.

Maybe something has changed in the 10 years since we last saw it with the move to the new theater, but I don't want to risk it to find out.

I would have much prefered a condensed version of the Broadway Show (ala Finding Nemo The Musical) than this.

I think this is about the VOices of Liberty and they are one of the best things at EPCOT imho and I never miss them. Fantastic.

Interesting opinion.

However, the sound VoL create is not pop: Not anywhere close.

Their vocal dynamics, scoop, enunciation, cadence, dissonance and vocal buttons are all squarely in the realm of acapella, not pop music.

Of course singers who are singing without instruments are forced to blend- That's the nature of acapella. That's the trick.

Nearly ALL singers are 'putting on another voice,' whether it be Broadway, Disney or even opera. It's only in things like folk and current pop/adult-contemporary that we might get to hear the true nature of someone's voice.

Festival of the Lion King is one of the worst shows on property.

Liberty Singers are overrated.
This is just to get reactions. Objectively, the are worse shows on property and the Voices of Liberty are objectively good singers.

I suppose you can just say you're not a fan of the sound and style of VoL, but they nail it for what they're trying to do. Overrated in terms of what? Like, they just aren't very good? That's untrue. You should still appreciate the talent, even if it's not your taste.

Festival of the Lion King one of the "worst" shows? What is better?

Spirit of Aloha? Tiki Room? Country Bears? Indiana Jones? Little Mermaid? Hoop-Dee-Doo? Up! Bird Show? Rivers of Light? Fantasmic?
Come on.

I wouldn't call Festival of the Lion King one of worst shows, but I saw it for the first time ever a few weeks ago and wasn't overly impressed. I think the Indiana Jones Stunt Show is easily better, despite being 30 years old. The original Rivers of Light was also definitely better but probably not the new version (haven't seen it).

My personal unpopular opinion... That Morimoto Disney Springs is overpriced junk.

As far as his eateries go, this is by far the most safe, most pedestrian menu. Even the Peking duck is weak.

Every time I've eaten there, it's been strip-mall quality at best.

Yes
Magic Kingdom is mostly a supersized version of DL with very little of the charm. The barren hub area is embarrassing.

The current Imagination ride is not that bad if you’ve never experienced the original.

The whole stolen Buzzy thing is hilarious.

Smuggler’s Run is a solid ride and has the most potential in the long run.

Yes, but the 'play it safe' menu is the same reason food choices at DLR are far superior to food choices at WDW. The average guest at WDW wants their burger/chicken and fries and nothing else.

Fake news. I doubt most Americans prefer food that is bland. I haven't been to every corner of the world, but I have seen that in many cases the opposite is actually true.

Its more that they prefer food they are familiar with. Most guests don't want to try new foods.

The one area in Epcot that doesn't get neglected and gets bigger every year is Food and Wine.

That's one thing I have zero interest in. I have no interest in going out to Orlando, parking, and dealing with all the mess just to pay for overpriced food and drink that I can get anywhere. I mean, I have an AP, so its free to go, but I definitely couldn't imagine who would pay $140 for the right to buy overpriced food and booze with very small portions.
