Yeah all the retconning they have done with Star Trek isnt good. Though I did watch a couple of the Strange New Worlds episodes, which is Pikes Enterprise, its better than the other 2.

I know we don’t watch any of them from jj to present. As soon as they deviated cannon and the started using that creature as a slave To generate power, which is something the federation would never do, we realized it’s lowest common denominator… It’s geared for modern pop culture and not for the life long fans.

That's not what happened at all. For one thing, they've never deviated from canon and the Tardigrade was NOT harnessed for power for the very reason that that is not something the Federation would do. That was literally the point of the episode. It was Star Trek ideals to the core.
