Universal Orlando Getting Bigger, Better, Wetter, Wilder

It really is quite simple. Universal loses because it's not Disney. Nothing Universal could possibly build, will light of the Disney faithful's hearts like:

These are people who actually experience glee at the sight a pair of mouse ears or a Disney bag at Orlando International Airport.

Quality doesn't matter. Just the simple fact it's "Disney" brightens their day.

Head to head. Studios park against studios park. USF vs. DHS. Walking through the gates today.

Why are we comparing DHS to anything? I am pretty sure you will not find an honest person who thinks DHS is better than Universal on its own. It's the weakest of the 4 gates in every aspect.

I just don't get why we're still talking about this. Universal is having a stellar few years and is turning from a dated 1990's park to a 21st century vacation destination. Disney just finished New Fantasyland and is working on expansions in two parks. It's just not getting done fast enough...or what? I'm just trying to figure out the point being made here.

Quality is subjective.

Personally I love Disney and I love Uni to, I have had great times at both resorts. I also don't have a problem with people who like one over the other, but I think anyone who is a fan of themed entertainment and has never been to Uni at least once is doing themselves a dis-service. What really bothers me is people who try to discredit what Uni has achieved, people who try to mis-represent it as "just a thrill park", or "just like Six Flags", or pretend that it's no where near in the same league as Disney.

I don't even know why people try to do that anymore. If you've been to Universal in the past few years and you're not impressed, I don't even know how else to convince you.

*edit: you, meaning neutral pronoun

This is like asking a football fan, "The Superbowl is over, why are you still discussing which team is better"?

The picture is a bad example since the hat is no longer there nor are the search lights behind the Chinese Theater still there.

It will have been 11 years between E Tickets by the time Avatar opens. The MK hasn't seen one in 23 years. To imply we are being impatient is laughable.

Just want to correct myself a little here. Spirits original post on this said late spring/early summer, not May. Guess my mind somehow mixed that info with my next trip to WDW. Also he said that Star Wars will be announced at D23 for the USA parks. That doesn't sound at all like "only for Disneyland, DHS later" :)

Remember there are TWO parks in CA, So Anaheim first would not be a surprise especially since they have a anniversary coming up soon.

Nah hes not wrong Robert Niles of Theme park insider had commentated to say Disney might open the land in late 2017 and the rides open the year after in 2018.

At least MY definition of open is attractions up and running and that still looks like 2018, And Late December 2017 can indeed mean Dec 31 2017 which for all intents and purposes is 2018 yet factually it's 2017

And that's fine the world does need a lot more joy than it currently has on tap
