Remember there are TWO parks in CA, So Anaheim first would not be a surprise especially since they have a anniversary coming up soon.
Yes CA does have two parks. Except, Spirit also said (or was it MiceChat? I think he confirmed it though) the plans are Star Wars for DL and Marvel for DCA which I think was also said to be announced at D23. So only one CA park is getting Star Wars. The other USA park getting a Star Wars announcement at D23, by process of elimination, must be DHS then. I get that you're the "Resident Curmudgen" by your own admission in that tag by your name, but this is something that should be clear to anyone who has read the info provided. Star Wars Land at DHS will be announced at D23 this year alongside Disneyland's announcement.

It would be nice if west and east coast versions were extremely different but we'll end up with two Cantinas, which would be disappointing.

Being a curmudgeon and proud of it, I'm really tired of WAITING for Disney to DO SOMETHING, Yet Paramount is building a Star Trek/Dr Who park in Kent, UK which is slated to open shortly after Avatar and they are in a far more regulated environment than WDW which already has the land and a tame government.

I suspect I will be VISITING that park in Kent while Disney is still telling us how great the SW additions will be. Of course while people are soaking up the Tardis and Enterprise, Disney will not have even begun construction on the SW lands and attractions.

Disney needs to actually BUILD something, Press releases even at D23 are just worthless paper.

You should've just started with that instead of saying we wouldn't get an announcement for DHS. Would've saved some internet space ;) I'm just hoping the actual building starts soon after the announcement or maybe even sometime before. I just remembered something though. Isn't Indy booked till 2018 for private events? That could put a damper on things if they're using that space for Star Wars.

It is a nice land, but is limited in attractions. I would rather more money have gone into Gringotts, than the various shops of Potter.

Yet, people seem to be able to spend hours there. You're missing the point of the "shops".

And a "nice land"? Come on. Adventureland is a "nice land". Diagon Alley is a living, breathing destination right from the pages and screen of the movies. And again, I'm not even a fan of Harry Potter.

And apparently it's light years better than that Gringott's movie up the road.
I actually enjoyed the mine train more than Gringotts. New fantasyland is a huge improvement on old fantasyland. Love beast restaurant, dumbo is much improved, and while mermaid has flaws it is still a solid fantasy land dark ride

I'm not a huge fan of Gringott's, but the mine train is the biggest disappointment at WDW. They spent years on it, and it's not much more than a watered down BTMRR with one really cool scene. Would have been much better to create an actual dark ride.

I don't think NFL is an improvement at all. They got rid of an all time classic. They opened up a bunch of new stores, that are absolutely no different than the dozens of other shops in the park. While we enjoyed the ambiance of BoG, the hassle to get in for dinner along with the prices and sub-par food, makes it a place we won't go back to. I would eat ay Mythos any day of the week over BoG.

I did not say that because I'm pretty sure we will NOT get anything of note at DHS, Perhaps Cantina to replace Pizza Planet and some enhanced Meet-n-Gropes beyond that I suspect nada, As long as DHS gate clicks remain at their current level from Disney's business point of view there is no compelling NEED to do anything.

At DL I expect to see SW in both DL and DCA with DCA focusing more on random interactions and Meet-N-Gropes with DL actually getting the 'Land' itself.

Remember TWDC considers Orlando to be a 'mature no-growth' market as such, they will only make minimal investments. Meanwhile down I-4 a piece NBC/Universal is proving that this is NOT the case.

Disney will only begin building things in Orlando when UNI overtakes 2 of the 4 parks in attendance.
