Yes. Imagine a guest's disappointment when they take a special trip to the Magic Kingdom only to find out that there are no fireworks at the end of the day - or worse yet, that the guest needed to purchase tickets to a separate event in order to watch the fireworks later that evening (from inside the park).

Do the floats seem to be easily changable? What I mean is, can the theme of the float be changed rather quickly.... I only ask because HOP seems to be only a seasonal theme... I feel adding HOP into the parade was a way to 1) promote the DVD/Blu-Ray release and 2) have an Easter theme for the parade as it debuts in the Spring... Once Easter is over and summer begins, I wonder if Hop will be switched out for something else... Oh and if you can get some pics without risking your job....
I would ssume it is easily changeable . And the hop theme does seem short term as the friends of the hop character aren't big on them. But they may keep it for a little while to help promote the release. And seeing as its raining today I would ssume they are in the parade warehouse.
Thanks Jafar... From the minute I heard this announcement I figured Hop would be easily replaceable, as I am sure the other floats are as well... I'd like to see a Dr. Seuss float added in at some point...

I would not be suprised to see a lorax float when this debuts. The character is popular and the movie seems well recived so far. So I would not be shocked to see a float themed to that.that and only four floats with characters doesn't seem like enough. No matter how well themed.
That is because this is a Movie It Shake It type concept where the parade units are more of a stop and go show. I wish it was a full length parade with more timeless Universal Properties in it too.

True but still even with the show stops in it. I cant see it only being 4 floats going the macys parade route which from what i heard is what the route is. Doesnt MISICI only go to the hub then back down mainstreet? Ive never actully watched it.
Yes MISICI only goes to the Hub and back down Mainstreet. Often times they cut the show down in segments if there is a hard ticket event about to start or if the weather is not looking good. In rainy day situations or really rushed ones they do a MISICI "drive by" where it just goes out and back with no stopping at The Hub.
It is not going to be The Macy's Parade Route as the concept art shows it going down Hollywood Blvd right near T2 headed towards the Art Deco gate next to Pantages (for those that do not know it is the facade entrance to The Horror Make Up Show)
Universal is hiring hundreds of full time employees for the Superstars parade... The roles they are looking for are:
Dancers – male and female dancers with strong technique in multiple dance styles
Animated Character Performers – high-energy dancers of all heights to perform choreographed routines in full character costumes
Candidates with a “little character” in them – positions are open for animated character performers with a maximum height of 4’11”
Drummers – skilled marching band style drummers
Roller Skaters – male and female, skilled roller skaters able to perform choreographed routines
Stilt Walkers – experienced male and female stilt walkers with ability to perform choreographed routines
Sounds a little like Block Party Bash combined with Move It, Shake It....

Didn't want to make a new thread based on this but Gru's house will be the facade of the soundstage for Despicable Me... The roof is on lot already, behind MiB...

I am not sure they released an official stating date... I'll double check for you though...
Also, the apex of Gru's house has now been added to the front of the sound stage... Coming along nicely!!!

Also, when I was there on the 11th (may post a TR and photo update later when I have time) The mini golf course was coming along nicely with the robot getting lights!
Seen recent pics, and it looks awesome... I like the night pics I saw too... I'm excited to try it out... And I'll be looking forward to your trip report...

I'm going with the 20th... The foliage and lights are the only things I saw that still needed work.
