Thanks for all the updates everyone.

Very excited about the Spiderman refurb! Dissapointed that the Despicable Me ride won't be open till August as i'll miss it on this trip. But overall it is great to see USF not just coasting on WWoHP's success and still adding and improving things.

OK some of the highlights:

Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem opens August 2012

Blue Man Group gets update in February, "playing off world's obsession with technology"

Spiderman will be ready by March. Guests will spend more time in each scene. Stan Lee will be in Spiderman. AWESOME!

Universal confirms new parade starting Spring 2012, themed to Hop, Despicable Me, Dora and Diego, and Spongebob Squarepants. Parade will be once a day and do show stops.

Lagoon show will also open in the spring, called Universal's Cenimatic Spectacular - 100 Years of Movie Memories. Morgan Freeman is confirmed as narrator. The water fountains will reach 100 feet.

Hollywood Drive In Mini Golf to open in February.

Wet N Wild getting a child's area make over.

Also a Nick Store will be going into USO. No mention where the store will be located.

Lagoon Show Concept

Pretty much what was expected. Nothing earth shattering. But they did try to lower expectations by telling everyone the Jaws replacement would not be announced. Glad we have some firm dates to when things will be open and starting. I'm very interested in the lagoon show and mini golf. The parade? Well, it is for kids obviously, and not a bad idea. Universal really does need more for kids.

My guess is that it will be located where the current Kid Zone store is. That spot is under refurbishment now, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it reopen as Nick. I also wonder when they will announce that Spongebob is taking over for Fievel as the new water play area.

Now that you mention KidZone, I remember reading online someone posting a trip report with pictures and said they think a Nick Store was planned for KidZone... makes sense actually...

Yes, it was a pretty good day for them.. And to think, this wasn't even a major announcement (sometime this year, hopefully)... I'd look toward the 2nd anniversary of WWoHP for another announcement...

That's the final thing? Not a work in progress?
The back grounds look great but spidey himself looks awful, he doesn't look part of the background he looks completely separate.... My opinion is that he looks worse than he ever has.... Clear cut case of if it ain't broke not fix it!!!
